those things get paid whether the gov shuts down or not. For some reason people think everything comes to a stand still but it doesn't. Essential services remain functioning but useless agencies that do nothing but drain our tax $ do not.

And as far as employees, if they are off work long enough, they can apply for unemployment just like everyone else. Businesses pay into the Federal Unemployment fund (.6% of every employee's first $7000 per year if I'm not mistaken)
