Reporter: We now have two inflation reports in a row, where year-over-year, the headline inflation number has gone up. You couple that with real hourly average wages are actually down since the day [Biden] took office, about three percent, so is that Bidenomics?

Jared Bernstein [Chairman, Council Economic Advisors, White House press conference]: Yeah, no, I, I, I, I think we have a disagreement with a fact there. Real wages are up relative to before the pandemic.

Reporter: Gas prices are a large part of the increase we saw in the CPI, then why is [Biden] restricting future grown of the oil industry?

Bernstein: American oil production is at an all-time high…there are thousands of available permits…so I don't think that's a problem.

Kirby [White House press conference]: This is not a payment of any kind [six billion]. It's not a ransom. These aren't US taxpayer dollars. And we haven't lifted a single one of our sanctions on Iran. Iran will be getting no sanctions relief…the regime doesn't get to touch the money. It doesn't go to them, they don't get to decide ultimate destination, and they have no direct access to it.

Kirby: I'm not at liberty now, again, because this is an ongoing process, and we don't have our Americans home yet, so I will be careful about how much detail I put out there. I don't have a lot that I can say about these five individuals at this time…generally speaking, you're looking at offense such as sanctions evasion, that kind of level.

Reporter: So not serious, hardened criminals?

Kirby: Largely, in the realm of sanctions evasions. I think I'm just going to have to leave it at that now.

Reporter: The Iranians have shared the names with us, are you prepared to release the names?

Kirby: We will at the appropriate time, and this is not the appropriate time.

Reporter: In the past couple of weeks, [Biden] has lied about being at Ground Zero the day after the September 11th attacks, falsely claimed he saw the Pittsburgh bridge collapse, claimed his grandfather died in the hospital days before his birth; what is going on with [Biden]? Is he just believing things that didn't happen did happen, or he is just randomly making stuff up?

Kirby: [Biden] was deeply touched to be able to spend 9/11 with military members there in Alaska…he spoke about a visit to Ground Zero, which he did participate in, about a week or so after the event…he's focused on making sure an attack like that never happens again.

Reporter: He is saying things that happened that didn't; things that are easily debunked. Why does he keep doing that?

Kirby: [Biden] was grateful to spend that time with those family members and those troops.

Jean-Pierre: Republicans in congress have spent all year investigating [Biden]….and have turned up with no evidence. None that he did anything wrong…and that's because [Biden] didn't do anything wrong.

That is one in a hundred Filipino children.
