What a Uniparty, Texas Deep State, Bush Family Mafia clown show.
After 7 days of an unmitigated disaster in the Ken Paxton Impeachment Trial by the Uniparty Texas House Managers, the House Managers clumsily and ineptly “rested” its case in chief prior to allowing Paxton defense attorneys their turn at cross-examination of their last trial witness.
The mistake had little practical effect as the Paxton Defense would be allowed to re-call the last witness for cross-exam IF the Defense EVEN HAS TO PRESENT any rebuttal evidence to the bogus counts of the Impeachment case.
The embarrassing premature decision to rest its case only serves to emphasize a week of embarrassment for the House Managers as each and every charge under the Impeachment was DESTROYED under the scathing cross-examination of each and every one of the witnesses called by the House Managers.
As an example, the Defense was able to establish during cross examination of the prosecution’s last witness this afternoon that the $20K alleged bribe of Ken Paxton with new kitchen granite countertops and cabinets, NEVER TOOK PLACE.
After the House Managers rested its case, the Defense attorneys for Ken Paxton notified the presiding senate “judge” that they had electronically filed a raft of Motions, including a Motion for a Directed Verdict of Not Guilty covering the entirety of the Impeachment articles!
To be fair, the House Managers also notified the “court” that they had also filed Motions of their own.
If short, this has been nothing short of a debacle for the Uniparty, Bush Family Mafia and Texas deep state.
However, the always faithful, national Security State lapdog fake news has been reporting on this Alamo-like last stand in Texas with the same degree of credibility witnessed in its coverage of the War in Ukraine.
Why there aren’t thousands of Texas Patriots and MAGA supporters protesting this Witch Hunt outside the Texas senate in Austin is beyond anon’s ken. The Texas Senate is the jury here and the Court of Public Opinion will be a major factor in the fate of Ken Paxton and the forces of Goodness and Light in the Lone Star State.
