Doctor with ties to Columbia sentenced for Medicare and Medicaid fraud

It seems father and son committed the fraud, billing for services that were not performed. However, the father has died, apparently of something related to COVID and the son suffered an accident and has on-going apparently severe medical issues. However, the son has been sentenced to 22 months in prison. The son apparently did some things that got his license suspended and he used his father's name to bill for services after that, but the father seems to have been aware.

Is this an example of justice unfolding?
