Since we weren't paying attention apparently. Data privacy is a huge issue and tracking all the attack vectors is a monumental task. Has your auto insurance gone a seemingly unjustifiable amount (even for this economy?). Think cell phone location data. With location and time data then travel speed is known. If they can buy location data en masse and then link it to you by using say, an email address that you use on the phone, or even the phone number itself. If your insurance company can connect you to that data then actuaries have all the justification they need to jack your rates despite you having no tickets and no accidents.
