Any anons go to an auto parts store recently and have them ask for your license plate? I did and I gave it to them to see what they pulled up and it was everything on my vehicle. Since when have DMVs started selling our info to private companies in addition to insurance carriers, etc.?
I submitted a FOIA. They deflected immediately (the morning they received it) saying the request was unclear (it was pretty specific and covered only 3 years) so I pulled up their records schedule and resubmitted the request defining 3rd parties, data sharing, what records series, and types of documents. I expect a similar response Monday.
