Kek. Waiting on the Veteran support group to show up to pick up all the furniture and what not we're donating. Once it's cleared out, I can start laying all the floor in the extension.
In-Laws moved back to the Philippines and we took over the house. Father-In-Law cut so many corners building the extension, I'm not even sure it's up to code. A part of me wants to strip everything down to the studs to check. He was an HVAC guy, after he left the Navy and our primary AC unit went out, after the secondary one did. I had to call in HVAC guys, 'cos I found the rats nest he rigged up for the secondary AC. Plumbing in the extension is shot, so I fixed that, but the flooring, he didn't do a humidity test on, so when he laid the floor, the moisture barrier wasn't correct and I've got air pockets all through the extension.
I started on the crawl spaces in the main house and the extension, but they were packrats and hoarders. I have 20 boxes of linen in the garage waiting for my turn for pick up. Shit was stored in space bags, in space backs. I have 10 working vcrs, 5 home theatre amplifiers and all kinds of crap they just refused to get rid of. All our stuff is in storage, while we clean out the house. I feel you on the 40 years of shit. I found unboxed transformers all over the crawl space, but the original boxes they came in, in a closet.
My house is a 80's nerd's wet dream.
