The midwives knew, getting rid of a pregnancy used to be handled by the women. A child born defective was usually eliminated by the mid wives. End of life suffering was eliminated with opiates used to be what doctors provided, grief and guilt counseling was the provence of the wise men. Regulating and making laws, then marketing death as an alternative with no wise person involved only causes grief, suffering and immorality.
