After listening to the audio and knowing the timestamps I am fairly certain the pilot flew the F-35 into a developing mesocyclone.

ATC audio between Charleston App and "SWEDE11," which I believe is the #MissingF35 from VMFAT-501.

Approach tries to raise SWEDE11 and 12 (wingman) on frequency. Finally, raises "12" who mentions losing primary contact. ATC advises that "11" will be considered NORDO.
