Everybody believed that back in the 70s. National Geographic ran big documentaries and magazine articles on the coming Ice Age. It was coming fast in less than 20 years and would have huge glaciers covering North America by then!
In the 80s was the hole in the ozone hysteria and people threw out tons of aerosols to save the ozone. The hole had healed itself by early 90s. By the time people were wondering what happened to the glaciers and the end of life on Earth, our boy Al Gore rolled in with Global Warming. Which is now Climate Change. Pardon me if I don't freak out on it. Seen it over and over and over.
I was right there with acid guy in the 70s, too.
