(Redirected from King of Cheeses)
Various cheeses have been called the king of cheeses.[1] The title is informal, and there is no standard definition, but a few are more consistently called that than others, especially in their countries of origin:
Parmigiano Reggiano[2]
Brie de Meaux: Congress of Vienna (1814). In fact, it was declared "Prince des fromages, et premier des desserts" ("prince of cheeses, and first among desserts"), which only later became "king of cheeses, cheese of kings".[3][4][5][6]
Roquefort: Frédéric Leblanc du Vernet, 1869[7][8][9]
Époisses: Brillat-Savarin, early 19th century[10]
Stilton (1912)[11]
Cheddar[12]
Cheeses are idiosyncratically named "kings" of particular kinds of cheese by individual writers: Maroilles, the king of strong cheeses;[13] Halloumi, the "king of cooking cheeses";[14] Västerbotten, the king of Swedish cheeses.[15] [16]
Sometimes lower ranks of nobility are used for other cheeses, e.g., Camembert, the "prince" of cheeses.[17]

has been called the "King of Cheeses"[2] and "practically perfect food",[3]

Pound for pound, Parmigiano-Reggiano can compete with almost any food for calcium, amino acids, protein and vitamin A – and is prescribed by doctors to cure ailments.

The Surprising Connection: Can Your Belt Cause Back Pain?
July 27, 2023 in Back Pain
Understanding the Link
Belts can indeed contribute to back pain primarily due to their impact on our posture abdominal muscles. When a belt is worn tightly it can compress the internal abdominal cavity affecting the positioning alignment of the spine. This compression can disrupt the natural curve of the lower back leading to strains muscle imbalances even disc issues over time.

Can your belt cause back pain, indigestion and other health issues? The answer might surprise you..

You might look fashionable wearing a belt but did you know it could cause serious health issues?
Typically, people wear a belt to prevent their pants, shorts, or skirt from falling down or as an accessory to complement their outfits. Both of these reasons for wearing a belt are valid but if you sit down most of the day, there’s a chance you are causing yourself more harm than good.
Tight belts can cause back pain, indigestion and numbness in your legs..
Spinal and lower back pain – Tight belts can cause nerve compression in the lower back and spine by putting too much pressure on the femoral cutaneous nerve.
Abdominal pain and discomfort – Digestive symptoms such as constipation, pain, and bloating arise if your belt presses on your stomach region and interferes with your natural digestive flow.
Acid reflux and indigestion – Wearing a tight belt can aggravate acid reflux, pushing your stomach upwards and constricting the surrounding muscles, causing stomach acid to move back into the esophagus.
Numbness and tingling sensations in your legs – A tight belt around your mid-section can interfere with circulation and have a negative impact on your nerves which leads to numbness and tingling.

The name "ruderalis" comes from ruderal, a term that denotes species of wild plants. This subspecies grows wild in parts of Eastern Europe and Russia where it is considered a weed. Native to the South-East of ancient Russia; it is believed that it was the Scythians who disseminated it in Asia, in particular in Mongolia for "religious" (ritual) purposes …
