Jake Sullivan [White House press conference]: Today's meeting will be the sixth in-person meeting between Biden and President Zelenskyy, and it's President Zelenskyy's third visit to the White House during the Biden administration.
Sullivan: Above all, [Biden] wants to use today to reaffirm his commitment, this administration's commitment, this country's commitment, to continuing to lead the world in support of Ukraine for as long as it takes.
Sullivan: We will want to see additional funding for Ukraine after the end of the fiscal year, so after September 30thโฆthe day after the funds lapse, or run out at the end of the fiscal year, there would be a break if we do not get the funding starting October 1st.
Sullivan: I'm not going to stand here and give a precise figure [how much has been spent on Ukraine].
Sullivan: Putin has not given up on his fundamental goal, which is to subjugate the country of Ukraine, and we will not permit that to happen, and the Ukrainian people will not permit that to happen.
Jean-Pierre: Today, extreme House Republicans showed yet again that their chaos is marching us toward a reckless and damaging government shutdown.
[says the administration that is marching us toward nuclear war]
Reporter: What do you call it, here at the White House, when ten thousand people illegally cross the border in a single day?
Jean-Pierre: What do you call it when GOP puts forth..wait, no, no, no, no, no, no..okay we're going to move on.
Reporter; You're answering a question with a question.
Jean-Pierre: We're moving onโฆI tried to answer the question, you stopped me.
Reporter: How many people illegally coming into the United States is enoughโฆ5.9 million people have been encountered illegally.
Jean-Pierre: Enough for what?
Reporter: To stop the flow.
Jean-Pierre: This is a problem that has been around for decades; a broken system. [Biden] has done everything, and is going to continue to do what he can, without the help of some republicans in congress, to deal with this issue.
Jean-Pierre: [Biden] has taken action upon action to try and deal with what is happening at the border. Historic action, without the help of congress.
['historic action' means a wide-open border with the intent to destabilize the United States]
