Newsers are idiots. because if you listen to the radio recording in context a person of even average intelligence can discern it was the downed pilot's answer when asked where the aircraft had crashed. After all, emergency services would naturally want to know this information because they are in the business of protecting life and property. If only the firefighter had been a bit more articulate on the radio by adding two words. "he lost sight of it in the weather". But brevity is the manner of comms on their radio. As usual, Daily Mail was one of those that took it and ran with it. Eventually, hopefully, there will be a correction and an apology. Not holding my breath on that one though.
