Was looking up the first American political parties.
Funfact:
There were two first, before the Whiggs & others. What's shocking to me is the Republicans & Democrats were in the same one.
Was something askew from the get go? Seems the Federalist party (other than the namesake) was more in tune with current Republican 'conservative' views.
Do I have it wrong? Trying to learn history nowadays can be difficult.
