My "parents" (real parents don't do this kind of thing of course) had what they called a baby-sitting circle. A long list of names and numbers up on the wall next to the phone, of other "parents" who they could call if they needed a baby sitter.
It was a very wholesome community. The sharing spirit really warms the heart.
Then, once I got a bit older, it was the school choir that was the cover for the trafficking network.
They have countless ways to hide in plain sight.
