you might think that each illegal disclosure might reasonably constitute a ‘count’, but the article says ‘one count’…. So it would seem that they grouped all the disclosures in a single count

 

harles Littlejohn, 38, of Washington, D.C., while working at the IRS as a government contractor, stole tax return information associated with a high-ranking government official (Public Official A) and disclosed it to a news organization (News Organization 1). Littlejohn also stole tax return information for thousands of the nation’s wealthiest individuals, and disclosed this tax return information to another news organization (News Organization 2).

 

There is no way you can convince me that a federal contractor unlawfully accessing the tax filings of a sitting U.S. President does not immediately send flags throughout the IRS system.

And the states are forbidden from making it

Federal are allowed to make it

And thenthey gave that right away in 1792 before the bill of rights was ratified

 

They know exactly what they are doing. There is no trickery here
