President al-Assad to CCTV: China plays an important role on world level, adopts partnership principle, not hegemony

President Bashar al-Assad said that China is a superpower that plays a very important role on the world level, and when it talks about partnership, it talks about a new principle, not about hegemony.

President al-Assad added in an inteveiw givn to to China Central Television (CCTV) that China politically stood by Syria through its significant role at the UNSC and other international forums.

The President went on to say that it is natural to have a broader dialogue with China in light of the circumstances the world is going through and the harsh Western economic blockade that aims to starve the Syrian people.

President al-Assad added that the Syrians are capable of rebuilding their country when the war stops and when the blockade be removed, indicating that our region faces the danger of modern Western liberalism that was originated in the USA and the danger of extremism.

“19 Years ago we visited China, there are so large leaps that I can’t make a comparison between that time and now. At the time it was said that China was called the world’s merchandise factory, but today I can say that it is the factory of innovation and creativity, President al-Assad stated.

President al-Assad underscored that the most important thing that has not changed in China is culture. It is the belonging to the homeland, to society, to Chinese customs and traditions. This is the greatest success. Many countries can develop technologically, economically, and in various scientific fields, but few of them can maintain their identity, and the Chinese identity today is as crystal clear as it was twenty years ago.

NSW battered by 85 bushfires while Victorian CFA issues multiple evacuation orders in Gippsland

As the east coast of Australia sweltered over Grand Final weekend, one state was battered by 85 fires in a day while multiple evacuation orders were issued for another.

The New South Wales Rural Fire Service worked tirelessly on Sunday to battle 85 fires.

By late on Sunday night the RFS confirmed only 46 had been contained, with 39 blazes still resisting efforts of emergency crews.

Residents in Bawley Point were given a Watch and Act warning over a blaze on Bundle Hill Road, but it was later downgraded to an “Advice” level as cooler conditions prevailed into the evening.

The same was the case with a fire burning east of Bredbo with the RFS changing its warning down to “Advice” despite the fire still burning as of Sunday night.

The Snowy Monaro region was particularly at risk with a “number of fires” near Shannon’s Flat and Bredbo continuing to burn as of 7:15pm on Sunday.

While conditions have eased from the blistering heat and dangerous winds on Sunday, there are still concerns fires could break out across the state.

A total fire ban has been issued for the South Western region with the RFS warning there was a “high fire danger forecast” in multiple areas around the state.

A perfect combination of weather systems hit the state on Sunday with sweltering heat coupled with high winds in Sydney, the greater Hunter and the far south coast.

But while temperatures have eased in on Monday, they will spike again on Tuesday with the mercury expected to hit 34C in Sydney.

Penrith has a forecast of 39C on Tuesday, with that heat handing on into Wednesday with a high of 35C. Penrith is expecting the first four days of October to all be above 30C.

Cannibal Released From Connecticut Psych Ward Early For ‘Good Behavior’ Even Though He Told Psychiatrist He Wanted to Eat Her Flesh

Liberalism is a mental disorder.

Tyree Smith, a brain-eating cannibal was released from a Bridgeport, Connecticut psych ward 50 years earlier than his scheduled release date for ‘good behavior’ even though he previously told his psychiatrist he wanted to eat her flesh.

“Tyree Smith is an individual with a psychiatric illness requiring care, custody and treatment,” the board stated in its report this week. “Since his last hearing Tyree Smith has continued to demonstrate clinical stability. Mr. Smith is medication compliant, actively engaged in all recommended forms of treatment, and has been symptom-free for many years.”

Smith, who was 36 at the time, was sentenced to 60 years in a psych ward in September 2013 (effectively a life sentence) after a jury found him not guilty of murder by way of insanity.

In December 2011, Smith murdered a homeless man, Angel Gonzalez, mutilated his body and ate his brains and eyeballs.

A psychiatrist previously testified that Smith said he heard voices that told him to eat Gonzalez’s brains and eyes ‘to better understand human behavior’ and ‘to gain vision into the spiritual real.’. He also expressed his desire to consume her flesh.

Tyree Smith was released from the psych ward this week after the state board determined he has been ‘symptom-free’ for many years.

“He denied experiencing cravings but stated that if they were to arise, he would reach out to his hospital and community supports and providers,” the report stated, according to the CT Post.

Tyree Smith, who grew up in Bridgeport and Ansonia, was found not guilty of murder by reason of insanity following a trial in July 2013 and ordered committed to a state psychiatric hospital for 60 years.

But this week, the state Psychiatric Security Review Board, ruled that Smith, after spending 10 years in the state’s most secure psychiatric hospital, is ready to be transitioned into the community. He has since been released and will be living in a Waterbury group home, according to the report. He is not to associate with anyone involved in criminal activity, the report states.

UK to Announce Cellphone Bans in Schools

Gillian Keegan, the UK Secretary of Education, will announce on Monday that smart phones will be banned in schools.

The ban will be in classrooms, but also when the children are on their breaks. The goal behind this is to reduce disruptions and help children focus on their studies.

Keegan went on to explain that the phones are a distraction and contribute to disruptive behavior and bullying.

Mobiles are to be banned from classrooms, the Education Secretary will announce on Monday.

Gillian Keegan will order schools to outlaw smartphones during lessons, and also in breaks, in a bid to end disruption and make it easier for pupils to focus.

A government source said new guidance would be issued to schools across England requiring them to take action.

‘Gillian believes that mobile phones pose a serious challenge in terms of distraction, disruptive behaviour, and bullying,’ the insider said. ‘It is one of the biggest issues that children and teachers have to grapple with so she will set out a way forward to empower teachers to ban mobiles from classrooms.’

Some schools already ban the use of mobiles, with pupils required to hand in their phones each morning – or face the punishment of a detention if they are caught using them.

In many ways, this might be a positive step toward a more focused education and maybe even less bullying. On the reverse side however, some parents are concerned about other issues that may arise. One of the biggest issues is emergency contact. Parents have more peace of mind if their child has a phone to call them while they are either at school or traveling there and back.

The UK isn’t the only country to ban cell phones at school. In June, Finland made the decision to ban phones from the classroom with the intent to raise test scores.

Shortly after that, the United Nations had a report recommending the banning of smart phones from classrooms. The simple fact that the UN said that should be alarming since they never get anything right.

About 2 years ago the previous Secretary of Education of the UK had tried to get phones out of schools and won initial support. His successor at the time decided against a ban.
