But what I was trying to point out is that they don't have an off switch. Their thinking mentality is Scorched Earth. Destroy Everything.
People let their house go to the bank.
They stop making payments and get evicted only after missing many payments. So basically they are living in the house for free until the bank repossesses it.
You are always free to try to sell your house if you can't afford to live there. You don't have to let it go to the bank. If you can't get it sold for some reason, just make periodic payments and the bank can't take it until you have missed so many in a row.
Lot's of people played that system during the 0bama years.
People would say, oh isn't it sad that they lost their house to the bank, but what they didn't realize is that those people had no equity in the house. Lots of them had 2nd mortgages and no equity.
