Rep. Nancy Mace on the Removal of Rep. Kevin McCarthy as House Speaker

 

Representative Nancy Mace (R-SC) spoke to Capitol Hill reporters following the House vote to oust Representative Kevin McCarty (R-CA) as House speaker. She said she voted to remove Rep. McCarthy from leadership because he did not keep agreements he made with her to safeguard abortion and birth control access after the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade in 2022.
