Caroline Leavitt: Nikki Haley, Chris Christie, anyone who's gaining a couple of points. It doesn't matter. President Trump continues to hold the 30 40 point lead in New Hampshire Iowa, South Carolina. All of these other candidates frankly should drop out. These debates are a waste of time. President Trump's numbers aren't moving.
Leavitt: He put out a Truth Social this morning. Actually, I would encourage your audience to look at it saying that he's 60 points ahead in this presidential race. And he will do, we will continue with that to ensure we can make this country great again. And he'll be involved in the speaker's race to ensure again that we have the best, most conservative America's first speaker possible and that we can pass a good budget and that we can hold the Democrats accountable and go on offense. I think all of those things are very important to the president including ensuring that we are stripping away all funds possible from this election interference scam that is being led by Jack Smith at the Department of Justice.
Does the fact that President Trump says he wasn't involved in this though, mean that this really was a duel of personalities going on here as some have alluded.
Leavitt: No, I don't, I don't believe that's the case. I think Matt Matt Gates had a principle to stand on and he felt very strongly about that. He articulated those positions. He had met many other members that voted along with him. And you know, it is what it is, we have to move forward and ensure that we elect a good speaker, that the conference agrees upon. And that again, President Trump will be helpful in getting that done.
Gina: But having a strong speaker who's a strong leader, even if it isn't Donald Trump or if it does end up being Donald Trump will make a difference come election time. Right?
Leavitt: Of course, we need a tough speaker. We need a strong speaker. And again, that's why the president said this morning that he'll do everything he can to ensure that happens and ensure the House Republican majority that the American public elected serves as a counter to the Democrats run Senate.
And also, of course, to Joe Biden's disastrous Democrat White House to ensure that we're not funding the catch and release of illegal immigrants into American communities at the rate of 100,000 every single month. We just saw a tragic story in Minnesota this week, about 11 illegal aliens being arrested in a home where they were tying up in raping gang, raping young women. You see the fentanyl overdoses in every American community where I'm from here in New Hampshire, our border state of Massachusetts is being flooded with illegal migrants because their Democrat governor has deemed it as a sanctuary state and these state, our United States should be a sanctuary for one people. And that's the American people. And so ensuring Congress has thought passing along dollars to fund Joe Biden's disastrous agenda is really important.
