FBI agent Elvis Chan, who appeared to lie under oath about his role in censoring the Hunter Biden laptop story, failed to show up Thursday to his scheduled testimony before the House Judiciary Committee, a source familiar confirmed to the Daily Caller. The Judiciary Committee subpoenaed Chan on Sept. 21 to appear for an interview Thursday after he previously failed to attend a scheduled interview, the Daily Caller previously reported. ’s Office of Insurance Regulation has just approved not only a double-digit rate increase (11.5 to 12.3 percent depending on the line of insurance) for all 1.387 million Citizens Inaurance policy holders, but also, if you are not a Florida Resident (aka a snow bird) and you own property in Florida or you rent property in Florida as a landlord, the new changes made by Citizens Insurance this week may make you may see up to an additional 50 percent increase on your insurance rate at the time of renewal by December 16.

So, if you have a vacation or rental home in Florida or are considered a part-time resident you will be seeing a surcharge up to 50% in your property insurance.

The state of Florida considers someone a full-time resident of the state if they spend at least six months and one day in the state per year. Citizens Insurance by way of OIR approval considers residency if the insurer or a tenant live in the property for nine months out of the year.

So, by December 16, 2023, if policyholders can’t confirm that their insured property is a primary residence, then they can expect to see and increase of up to 50 percent on their insurance rate at renewal.

Ron DeSantis has created this Inaurance crisis which will now be a Housing crisis. People are not going to be able to afford insurance rate increases on their Florida properties and homes where insurance rates are already the highest in the nation.
