Ba'al is a Canaanite god.
Before it was Israel/Judea it was the Land of Canaan.
King Herod was an Edomite/Canaanite convert to Judaism.
During the time of Jesus the Edomite converts through King Herod ruled Judea.
THEY are WHO killed Jesus.

If you are of Canaanite stock and want to reclaim the Land of Canaan, do you call it Canaan?
What support would you have for that?
But, if you were to call it Israel…
