I call it 'political pandering' at its worst. Though I highly admire senator Scott, wish he had been our first 'black President' instead of the fraud we had, this is a form of twisted virtue-signaling to the black community. Granted the black community may be the most sensitive to the issue, I believe we must move away from collective victimhood, with its attendant call for reparations, if We are to spiritually grow as a society.
Not to cause a slide, but I express the sentiments above as a Jew, and feel it is as applicable, if not more so, from the Jewish community as well. Yes, that includes the Holocaust. We must learn to take pride in our unique traits and cultures, and not be shamed or accosted for doing so, but we must lose the tribal divisions and unify as, in my case, a greater, united America and as citizens and stewards of this good earth.
