I have conducted a preliminary analysis of the outage yesterday. I believe the cut fiber is bullshit and that the outage was a DNS takedown test. I have been predicting such an attack since 2016 when Hussein handed the root zone over to the United Fucking Nations.

I'm a HoustonFag and use Comcast. I've been in IT since 1979 and I've done it all. Software, hardware, networks, contributor to Linux, etc. All of my systems are Unix/Linux/OS X so I can use command-line utilities to get better insight than one can on Windoze.

I have no Wifi - everything internal is on 1Gb Ethernet. I have a cable MODEM and a FreeBSD box with 2 nics as the firewall, DNS cache, etc.

The FreeBSD box runs unbound and it refers to the root servers. I do not use Comcast or Google DNS. On a good day, Comcast DNS sucks.

When we had the outage at 12PM EDT yesterday, there were lags in when sites would drop out of view on my workstation. I did not get a "Host Unreachable" - this is the sign of a cable cut. I got a DNS resolution failure meaning that the DNS system did not know where sites like RT.COM was. I lost RT, Drudge and a number of others.

These days, the TTL values are set quite low because of the movement of services across the cloud.

Most humans just say that "the internet is broke" and have no idea how it all works.

The next point is this, the outage hit many Tier 1 providers at the same time. Level 3, TWtelecom and others. The outage was heavy in the Northeast and also in the LA area with some issues in Houston.

Not all sites were affected equally and this seems to correspond with the expiration of the DNS records cache.

I did some command line pinging and traceroutes from some known endpoints and could reach if I had the actual IPv4 address available.

My conclusion was that this was a test to disable the net. I do not know if it was white hats with Q or black hats with the cabal.

Q has predicted internet stoppages in 3 posts if memory serves.

Just because they said it was a cable cut doesn't mean you should believe them. (they) reported that there was a fire in a datacenter in Charlotte in the 1990s when it was all staged to keep from paying fines.

I cannot see any attack data from other endpoints like that. We have to rely upon monitoring tools to have insight.

What I was reporting was only what I can independently test and verify.
