Boone County health department to host flu vaccine comfort clinic on Oct. 14
It's on the same day as the annular eclipse.
Quotes: "This clinic is for individuals interested in getting a flu vaccine, but are either anxious about needles or the process of receiving a vaccination, according to a press release."
"The comfort clinic is sensory friendly and will have extra comfort measures, including anxiety-reducing activities, private rooms for vaccination, distraction tools and volunteers trained in evidence-based child life therapeutic interventions, according to the press release." (Red Text added)
What are "evidence-based child life therapeutic interventions"? Are they saying they can hold your child down "sensitively"?
My opinion: If you are anxious about taking an injection or your child is terrified perhaps this is an indication it isn't a good idea?
