JPMorgan Debuts Tokenization Platform, BlackRock Among Key Clients: Report

The Tokenized Collateral Network enables the conversion of traditional assets into digital assets and makes way for faster and more secure on-chain settlements.

United States banking giant JPMorgan debuted its in-house blockchain-based tokenization application, the Tokenized Collateral Network (TCN), on Oct. 11, according to Bloomberg. TCN settled its first trade for asset management giant BlackRock.

The Tokenized Collateral Network is an application that allows investors to utilize assets as collateral. Using blockchain technology, investors can transfer collateral ownership without moving assets in underlying ledgers.

In its first public collateralized trade between JPMorgan and BlackRock, the TCN turned shares of one money market fund into digital tokens, which were then transferred to Barclays bank as security for an over-the-counter derivatives exchange between the two companies.

The first internal test of the TCN was conducted by JPMorgan in May 2022, with a pipeline of other clients and transactions now that TCN is live. The TCN was launched to streamline and scale the process of traditional settlements on a blockchain. The use of decentralized technology made the process faster, more secure and more efficient.

According to Tyrone Lobban, head of Onyx Digital Assets at JPMorgan, the new TCN platform unlocks capital and allows it to be used as collateral in ongoing transactions, boosting efficiency at scale. The platform enables the creation, transfer and settling of tokenized traditional assets. It also allows for the movement of collateral nearly instantly, unlike earlier methods.

The blockchain platform allows clients to access intraday liquidity through a secured repo transaction using tokenized collateral rather than depending on expensive unsecured credit lines. External clients who agree to the blockchain trade have their own node on which they can settle the trade and access other reports.

The U.S. banking giant has come a long way from its early days of criticizing the decentralized world and is currently actively involved in testing and launching various blockchain and crypto-centered services amid growing demand. The bank used a blockchain-based solution to settle trades with Indian banks in June.

US Sending Two Carrier Strike Groups To Mideast Region, Taps Qatar To Assist Hostage Mediation With Hamas

Update(1425ET): US National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby confirmed that the United States will be sending the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier to the Eastern Mediterranean, after it was already announced that the USS Gerald R. Ford would be deployed as part of "support" operations related to the Israel-Gaza conflict.

However, Kirby said that the Eisenhower will not be directly joining or escorting. Instead, the carrier will be in the region for availability if called upon. While in a press briefing Kirby tried to downplay the dual carrier deployment as somewhat routine or expected, they will certainly be on standby to potentially intervene if all hell continues breaking loose in the Middle East.

Kirby also confirmed that the US administration is in talks with Qatar as part of mediation efforts to free the hostages being held by Hamas. It's believed there are Americans among the captives in Gaza, which at this moment is being pounded by Israeli airstrikes. Kirby said the following:

"Obviously, we're in discussions not only with the Israelis, about what hostage recovery could look like, but with other allies and partners in the region. And there are some countries like Qatar that have open lines of communication with Hamas, so of course, we're casting the net wide as you would expect, we want to get these all the hostages back with their families, particularly the American hostages, no question about that."

Zelensky makes unannounced visit to NATO HQ

This is the Ukrainian leader’s first visit to the US-led military bloc’s headquarters since the start of the conflict with Russia

Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky arrived at the NATO headquarters in Brussels on Wednesday to take part in meetings of the bloc’s defense ministers aimed at discussing further Western support for Kiev in its fight against Moscow.

Zelensky has not been to the headquarters in the Belgian capital in person since the start of the conflict between Ukraine and Russia in February 2022, only addressing gatherings of top officials from the US-led military alliance via video link.

REPORT: IDF Can’t Confirm Viral Claim That Hamas Beheaded Babies

BREAKING: Widespread reports that Israeli babies were beheaded by Hamas cannot be confirmed.

A press contact with the Israeli Defense Forces reportedly told the Turkish news agency Anadolu that the Israeli military has no evidence confirming viral reports that Hamas radicals beheaded babies during their deadly, unprecedented attacks inside Israel.

Though claims that Hamas fighters beheaded dozens of Israeli babies have gone viral on social media and have been taken up by government and media figures worldwide, particularly in the United States, Turkish publication Anadolu reports that “the Israeli army has no information confirming allegations that ‘Hamas beheaded babies’.”

When the publication “contacted the Israeli army spokesperson unit over the phone and asked about the allegations,” a spokesperson said, “We have seen the news, but we do not have any details or confirmation about that.”

Rumors that Hamas beheaded Israeli babies come after the Palestinian militants raided Israeli settlements and even a rave, killing civilians and taking hostages. The rumors also come as both sides are trading large-scale strikes with a massive effect on civilian populations.

As of Tuesday afternoon East Coast time, more than 1,300 people have been confirmed dead, with Israel having lost an estimated 800 people, including a large proportion of civilians, and the Palestinians having lost an estimated 500.

The latter figure though is almost certain to rise, as Israel carries out massive air strikes against the Gaza Strip, where Hamas militants operate among an extremely dense population of civilians.

As reported by National File, Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has announced a “complete siege” of the Hamas-dominated Gaza Strip, cutting off food, water, fuel, and electricity to the region that’s home to an estimated 2 million Palestinians.

“I have ordered a complete siege on the Gaza Strip,” Gallant announced on Monday. “There will be no electricity, no food, no fuel, everything is closed. We are fighting human animals and we act accordingly.”

Israel knew of Hamas attack in advance – US lawmaker

Representative Michael McCaul backed up earlier claims that Egypt tipped officials off to an impending assault

Three days before Hamas’ large-scale assault on Israel, the Egyptian authorities warned their counterparts in Tel Aviv that such an operation was imminent, US House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul told reporters on Wednesday.

“We know that Egypt has warned the Israelis three days prior that an event like this could happen,” McCaul said following a closed-door intelligence briefing on Capitol Hill.

“I don’t want to get too much into classified, but a warning was given,” McCaul continued. “I think the question was at what level.”

The Associated Press reported on Monday that Israeli officials ignored repeated warnings from Cairo that Hamas was planning “something big.” Citing a source within Egyptian intelligence, the news agency claimed that the Israeli government felt that an attack was unlikely to come from Gaza, and would probably take place in the West Bank instead.

The AP report did not specify how recently these warnings were allegedly made.

Hamas militants began firing barrages of rockets into Israel from Gaza on Saturday, with fighters then pouring across the border and raiding Jewish settlements near the Palestinian enclave. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded by declaring a state of war and launching airstrikes on Gaza.

Israel has since come under rocket fire from Lebanon and Syria, and as of Wednesday, more than 1,200 Israelis are dead and 3,200 injured, according to government figures. At least 1,100 Palestinians have been killed and more than 5,300 wounded, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.

Saturday’s surprise attack has been viewed as a catastrophic failure for Israel’s intelligence services, which were previously believed to have eyes and ears throughout Gaza.

Netanyahu has repeatedly denied that he was notified of Hamas’ plans before the onslaught.

Shortly after McCaul spoke to reporters in Washington, an anonymous Egyptian official told the Times of Israel that Cairo’s agents did warn their Israeli counterparts about a planned Hamas attack, but that this warning may not have made it to Netanyahu’s office.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky advised fellow world leaders on Wednesday to visit Israel in a show of unity following the ongoing wave of terrorist attacks by the genocidal Islamist terror group Hamas.

“I remember the first days of our full-scale war. “My recommendation – if I can use this word – my recommendation for the leaders of the world … go to Israel,” Zelensky urged, adding that doing so can “help to save your nation, people, save lives.”

“So my recommendation to the leaders [is] to go to Israel and, I think, to support people. Bill Gates Investing $40 Million For mRNA Vaccine Development In Africa

The Gates Foundation is spending $40 million on countries in Africa and other economically backward nations to produce new mRNA vaccines in efforts to prevent against diseases like tuberculosis and malaria.

On Monday, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation announced $40 million in funding to "advance access to mRNA research and vaccine manufacturing technology that will support low-and middle-income countries’ (LMICs) capacity to develop high-quality, lifesaving vaccines at scale," according to an Oct. 9 press release. The $40 million will be spent on boosting access to a low-cost mRNA research and manufacturing platform developed by Belgium-based Quantoom Biosciences.

While $20 million will go to Quantoom, two research institutes in Africa—located in Senegal and South Africa—will get $5 million each. The remaining $10 million will go to vaccine manufacturers from low- and middle-income countries.

Quantoom’s platform can lead to a more than 50 percent drop in mRNA vaccine development costs compared to traditional mRNA technology, the release said.

The foundation argues that mRNA vaccines have “simpler research and manufacturing processes” compared to traditional vaccines. As such, expanding the technology to countries like South Africa and Senegal can lead to the development of low-cost mRNA vaccines for diseases like malaria and tuberculosis.

The $40 million funding adds to the foundation’s previous investment worth $55 million in mRNA manufacturing technology.

“Putting innovative mRNA technology in the hands of researchers and manufacturers in Africa and around the world will help ensure more people benefit from next-generation vaccines,” said Dr. Muhammad Ali Pate, Nigeria’s coordinating minister of health and social welfare and a global expert on vaccines.

“This collaboration is an encouraging step that will increase access to critical health technologies and help African countries develop vaccines that meet the needs of their people.”

The Gates foundation’s new investment comes as mRNA technology has sparked numerous safety concerns. During a testimony at the European Parliament last month, cardiologist Dr. Peter McCullough said that everything he has learned about mRNA vaccines has been “horrifying.”

“There's not a single study showing that the messenger RNA is broken down” in the human body once it is injected, he said. “There's not a study showing it leaves the body.” Since the vaccines are “made synthetically, it cannot be broken down.”

Israeli airstrikes struck the only land exit from Gaza into Egypt today, shortly after a senior IDF spokesperson advised civilians in the Strip to flee through it.

Of course, one should not need confirmation from Egyptian intelligence or any other source to understand that an attack emanating from the most surveilled region on Earth roughly the size of two Washington D.C.s involving tens of thousands of operatives, months if not years of planning, tons of equipment including tens of thousands of rockets imported and stockpiled in Gaza, and an influx of cash to make it all happen could have possibly occurred without the tacit blessing if not active facilitation by Mossad and/or the CIA

Almost immediately after the attack, the corporate state media launched a propaganda blitzkrieg to offer all manner of excuses for how Israeli intelligence “failed” to detect the most obvious buildup possible, precisely because it’s so patently obvious to anyone with common sense that nothing of the sort was possible that such a PR blitz is necessary to get out in front of the narrative. The provable untruth is any corporate state narrative is directly proportional to the intensity with which is is forced down the American public’s throat.

They claimed the IDF was caught off-guard because of Yom Kippur – despite the fact that Israel’s enemies launched a surprise attack decades ago on the same holiday. They offered the excuse that the IDF had moved its forces to the West Bank to quell uprisings against settlers.
