Representative Anthony Weiner (D-NY - pictured here with Defense Minister Ehud Barak) has joined his Senate colleague Chuck Schumer in criticizing the Obama administration's treatment of Israel.

Today, after White House spokesperson Robert Gibbs stated โ€œI donโ€™t think it is a stretch to say we donโ€™t agree with what Senator Schumer said,โ€ which came in response to the senatorโ€™s criticism of the Administrationโ€™s position on Israel, Rep. Anthony Weiner (D โ€“ Queens and Brooklyn) released the following statement to YWN:

โ€œIsrael is our closest ally in the region, yet they continue to receive more criticism than deserved and less support than is required.โ€

โ€œInstead of continuing to lash out publicly at our closest ally, the Obama Administration should be listening to what Senator Schumer says. Schumer is right, and the White House is wrong on Israel.โ€

The family of Robert Davis, 19, who is accused of killing local journalist Josh Kruger, said that Davis was just 15 when he and Kruger began a years-long relationship involving drugs โ€” and that Davis told them Kruger was threatening to post sexually explicit videos of him online before, police say, Davis shot Kruger.

Kruger, 39, was killed after a man entered his Point Breeze home in the middle of the night, police said, and shot him seven times at the base of his stairs. Surveillance video near the scene and tips from Krugerโ€™s friends and family led detectives to Davis, and a warrant was issued for his arrest a few days later. Police described the pair as acquaintances, and said Kruger โ€œwas trying to help [Davis] get through life.โ€
