Culture is the macro form of human nature and acts as the force that tames the individual's base biomechanical instincts.
Is it human nature for a man to want multiple women all to himself and for women to want to be with the man with the most resources?

Western culture promoted monogamy as a stabilizing force and the achievements/advancements are a testament to what can be done when a greater percentage of men have access to sex and the possibility of fathering children.
The 10% of the men control 90% of the women cultures have historically failed and many such cases of getting their asses slaughtered by competitors that have a moar stable culture.
