AUSfag here. It was destined to fail and honestly, I feel like the whole premise was designed as a smoke-screen to foment division and distract from something else.
I don't follow the news cycle here but I'm sure it will dominate for the next 2-4 weeks at least while the next thing comes down the pipeline.
At the very least it's nice to see that even Australia is starting to wake up and not be lead around by celeb/journo opinion.
Funding was overwhelmingly put behind the YES vote FYI and dominated most (from what little I am exposed to) media channels
