Genesis 32:27-30

Then said he unto him, What is thy name? And he said, Jacob. Then said he, Thy name shall be called Jacob no more, but Israel; because thou hast had power with God, thou shalt also prevail with men.

Then Jacob demanded, saying, Tell me, I pray thee, thy name. And he said, Wherefore now doest thou ask my name? And he blessed him there. And Jacob called the name of the place, Peniel; for, said he, I have seen God face to face, and my life is preserved
