That was me, I was in the GATE program. My wife was hit much harder. She was in a program where they hooked her up to bio-feedback machines. She did not have a real childhood. At least the GATE program let me occasionally be a child. Interesting note: before I was tested and placed in GATE, teachers thought I was "slow". Until GATE, I was in remedial classes then immediately was switched to advanced placement.
