Death of Gladewater couple being investigated as murder-suicide
The deaths of a Gladewater couple found in their home on Friday is being investigated as a murder-suicide.
Gladewater police were sent to a residence in the 1900 block of Shell Circle around 4 p.m. Friday after a report of a death at the location.
When police arrived, they found the bodies of William Maines, 66, and Sarah Maines, 65.
The preliminary investigation indicates Mrs. Maines died after being shot by her husband, according to the Gladewater Police Department. Shortly after, police believe Maines then committed suicide.
Officials said autopsies will be performed on both bodies to confirm the findings of the preliminary investigation and that at this time there are no suspects in the case.
