California Nanny Charged With Molesting Baby Girl to Send Abuse Photos to Man She Met Online
A California nanny has been charged with molesting a baby girl she was hired to care for and sending images of the abuse to a man she met online.
Michelle Nicole Hidalgo, 28, was first arrested by the Contra Costa County Police last month after they received a tip from an unnamed social media platform saying that she had allegedly shared child pornography on the platform.
After going through her social media history, police found conversations with a man demanding “worse and worse” images of the infant, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
Contra Costa County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force seized “equipment used in the production and distribution” of the child pornography in her home.
Hidalgo still worked for the victim’s family at the time of her arrest.
Additional charges have since been added related to the molestation of the infant.
“On top of the four felony counts of child pornography she previously faced, Hidalgo has now been charged with a further three counts of child molestation of a victim under 10, and of using a minor for sex acts,” the Daily Mail reports.
When confronted about the images by a detective, Hidalgo confessed but claimed it was a “stupid” one-time “mistake.”
Despite the confession, Hidalgo pleaded “not guilty” to the charges.
District Attorney Diana Becton has not ruled out the possibility of Hidalgo having other victims.
Hidalgo is currently being held on a $2.7 million bond and faces up to 60 years to life in prison if convicted.

"The Biden administration recently sent a Marine three-star general and several other U.S. military officers to Israel to help advise the Israeli military's leadership in its operation in Gaza, according to two U.S. officials and two Israeli officials briefed on the issue," Axios reports in an exclusive.
Given that among the over 200 hostages held by Hamas, there are American captives, the stakes are high for Washington. The prisoners are said to be scattered around Gaza, and possibly underground in tunnels, making any kind of commando rescue attempt scenario basically impossible.
On Sunday, an Israeli ground unit with bulldozers and a tank briefly went into Gaza, but it resulted in reportedly the tank destroyed and an IDF troop death, with others injured.
Given this level of operational/mission complexity and sensitivity, Marine Corps Lt. Gen. James Glynn was sent to assist the Israeli military, Axios specified. Previously he had headed all Marine special operations, and ran counter-ISIS missions in the Middle East.
All of this continues to be part of the preparations phase for a major ground assault, which Israeli leaders - both civilian and military - have repeatedly assured is coming. According to more details in Axios:
Glynn and the other U.S. military officers are not directing operations but they do provide military advice to the IDF about its plans in Gaza. This has been primarily focused on Israel's expected ground invasion. The American officers have shared lessons the U.S. has learned from fighting ISIS in Mosul.
Glynn is not expected to stay in Israel to follow the IDF ground invasion, sources with direct knowledge of the issue said.
PM Netanyahu has previously warned that the ground offensive will be "long and difficult" - but international pressure has been brought to bear to stall the invasion in order to create a window negotiating freedom for hostages.

NewsGuard, a company which claims to rate media outlets' level of 'trustworthiness' and therefore has a meaningful influence over ad revenue, has been sued along with the Biden administration by Consortium News, which also named the Pentagon's Cyber Command for "contracting with NewsGuard to identify, report and abridge the speech of American media organizations that dissent from U.S. official positions on foreign policy."
According to the complaint, NewsGuard is "acting jointly or in concert with the United States to coerce news organizations to alter viewpoints" regarding Ukraine, Russia and Syria, and has impsed a form of "censorship and repression of views" that diverge from US policies and those of its allies, the complaint says.
Consortium also notes that NewsGuard has branded the entirety of Consortium News' 20,000+ articles as 'unreliable' based on just six examples they took issue with (which is the exact same thing they do with ZeroHedge and other independent media).
NewsGuard uses its software to tag targeted news sites, including all 20,000+ Consortium News articles an videos published since 1995, with warnings to "proceed with caution," telling NewsGuard subscribers that Consortium News produces "disinformation," "false content" and is an "anti-U.S." media organization, even though NewsGuard only took issue with a total of six CN articles and none of its videos.
The complaint seeks a permanent injunction declaring the joint program unconstitutional; barring the government and NewsGuard from continuing such practices and more than $13 million in damages for defamation and civil rights violations. -Consortium News
