Anons on the boards noticed that the first person to follow the alleged shooter’s Twitter account (before it was removed) was a professor who studies terrorism.

The account (@ProfAsifNawaz) constantly retweets about mass shootings and anti-2A content.

Michael McFaul (Obama's Amb to Russia)

America Is Lucky That Biden’s in Charge

Everyone is looking to Washington for leadership in the Middle East.

President Joe Biden and his national-security team began their time in office in 2021 intending to concentrate on confronting China’s rise. The state of the world has not allowed such a singular focus. First came the American withdrawal from Afghanistan and the Taliban’s return to power. Next was Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine. Now Hamas has carried out its barbaric terrorist attack against Israeli citizens, triggering a forceful response from Israel and potentially a major interstate war in the Middle East.

Americans are lucky to have President Biden and his foreign-policy team in charge of national security right now. Their experience and knowledge extends not just to China and Asia but to the world, and they have made smart moves in defense of American interests and values. …

Cuomo Admits ABC Had BANNED Them Wearing American Flag Pins After 9/11

Since being hired by NewsNation, anchor Chris Cuomo has had a noticeable change in how he talks about the media on his eponymous show. And during a conversation with Ian Bremmer of the Eurasia Group Wednesday night, Cuomo recalled his time at ABC News post-September 11th (before going to CNN) and admitted that the network had banned its reporters from wearing and displaying American flag pins on the lapels of their jackets when they appeared on-air.

Cuomo’s memory of the ban seemed to be jogged by current criticism of how he uses the word “we” when talking about America. “It's interesting. You know, I've had people for the first time since 9/11 in the War on Terror. People have been commenting on social media that I shouldn't say ‘we’ when we talk about America,” he said.

Flaunting an apparently new-found defiance of corporate media rules, he then recalled how ABC had ordered a ban on American flag pins:

I wasn't allowed to say this then, but I just don't care now. I am an American and I report as an American and I think about America's interests when I support. You know, back on 9/11, they wouldn't let us – at ABC News – where a flag pin. I always thought that was wrong. I'm an American.

ACTBLUE INSIDER:Mole inside ActBlue discloses secret conference held in Boston. Inside hotel, O’Keefe questions ActBlue on FEC money laundering allegations. The Boston Police were called and bodycam footage forthcoming…

Months ago we found a handful of donors who donated small amounts to ActBlue, but when ActBlue reported the donations to the Federal Elections Commission, something didn't add up. Unaware retirees, among many others, were reported having given tens of thousands more than their actual donation.

We went to get some answers from ActBlue staffers on the inside at their secret meeting in Boston. When confronting ActBlue employees outside of the hotel, no responses were given.

James O'Keefe was questioned by conference security and when they saw his OMG press pass, he was immediately asked to leave the hotel premises. Once outside of the hotel, things got even more heated and the police were called on our team.

Mike Johnson may have won the speaker struggle - but his BIGGEST challenges lie ahead:

After securing the gavel and ending three weeks of House impasse, the newly minted Speaker Mike Johnson faces a long list of hurdles. The 51-year-old will have to hold together a free-wheeling Republican conference that has been hostile to leadership figures. He was the fourth nominee in three weeks - chosen after three others won a majority in conference but could not win the 217 GOP votes needed to clinch the gavel on the floor. DailyMail.com breaks down the top challenges new Speaker Johnson faces.

A quarter of voters say America is so badly off track that patriots may have to use violence to 'save' the country, poll shows, as

millions embrace QAnon and fear democracy will die in the 2024 election

A quarter of voters say America is so badly off track that patriots may have to use

The 'political temperature in America is rising,' said Robert Jones, president of the pollsters. 'We should be deeply concerned about the growing number of Americans who express openness to political violence.' Nearly a quarter of Americans now say that the country has gone so far off the rails that patriots may have to resort to violence to save it, according to an alarming new survey. Polling from the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) also shows that millions more Americans have embraced QAnon ideas, and that voters overwhelmingly believe that next year's election could bring the end of democracy.

Polling from the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) sounds the alarm about America's divisive politics

Nearly a quarter of Americans now say that the country has gone so far off the rails that patriots may have to resort to violence to save it, according to an alarming new survey.

Polling from the Public Religion Research Institute (PRRI) also shows that millions more Americans have embraced QAnon ideas, and that voters overwhelmingly believe that next year's election could bring the end of democracy.

The survey comes as the nation heads into a divisive 2024 presidential election that looks set to pit the incumbent, Democratic President Joe Biden, against his predecessor, Donald Trump, a Republican.

The last time those two faced off in the 2020 vote, Trump refused to accept his defeat and his supporters stormed the US Capitol on January 6, 2021, in a bid to stop the certification of Biden's win.

PRRI president Robert Jones said the polling shows the 'political temperature in America is rising' further still.

'Our last presidential election was the first in our history without a peaceful transfer of power,' said Jones.

'We should be deeply concerned about the growing number of Americans who express openness to political violence.'

The nationwide survey of 2,525 adults found that the number of people who countenance political violence has shot up these past two years.

In early 2021, only 15 percent of Americans agreed with the statement that 'because things have gotten so far off track, true American patriots may have to resort to violence in order to save our country.'

That was roughly the same time as the January 6 insurrection.

This year, 23 percent agreed — with increases among both Republicans and Democrats.

White evangelical Protestants and people who believe Trump won the 2020 vote are more likely to endorse violence than others, researchers said.

Trump, the front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination, has used increasingly violent rhetoric in a reelection campaign clouded by his criminal prosecutions in four jurisdictions.

He has derided the political 'witch hunt' to prevent his return to office, called for harsh treatment of migrants and criminals, and even called for the execution of a former top military official.

At the same time, ever more Americans have embraced the QAnon conspiracy theory.

The wacky credo imagines a devil-worshiping pedophile elite that secretly pulls the strings on US and global institutions.

The number of adherents has jumped from 14 percent in 2021 to 23 percent today, PRRI, a non-profit, says.

Republican voters are more likely to hold QAnon beliefs, but many Democrats also support the theory.

Against this backdrop, an overwhelming majority of 75 percent of Americans worry that the future of US democracy is at stake in the 2024 presidential vote.

Some 84 percent of Democrats are concerned about representative government coming unstuck, but so do 77 percent of Republicans.

More broadly, the survey sheds light on the racial, religious and political differences that influence America's increasingly fractious politics.

It paints a portrait of a nation facing major demographic shifts as Americans turn away from mainstream media and misinformation swirls around on social media.

>narrative driving shitbags.

There's moar:

WHAT IS QANON, AND HOW DID IT GET SO BIG?

QAnon started on fringe website 4chan, where a poster calling themselves Q left messages claiming to be a senior federal official and purporting to reveal a 'deep state' cabal intent on bringing down then-president Donald Trump.

Q grew out of the discredited 'Pizzagate' conspiracy that top Democrats were involved in pedophilia and cannibalism from the basement of a Washington DC restaurant, but quickly picked up steam with Q' leaving 'clues' and claims that Trump was going to bring down the deep state.

A core tenet of the conspiracy theory is that a cabal of child-sex predators that includes prominent Democrats, Hollywood elites and 'deep state' allies ran institutions and a global child sex ring.

It has become a 'big tent' conspiracy theory encompassing misinformation about topics ranging from alien landings to vaccine safety. Whenever the conspiracies turn out to not be true, followers rationalize that the inaccuracies are part of Q's larger plan.

Followers of QAnon say a so-called Great Awakening is coming to bring salvation.

The 'Q' posts, which started in 2017 on the message board 4chan, have also been posted on 8kun, a rebranded version of the shuttered web board 8chan.

Major social media platforms including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter have banned content associated with QAnon and have suspended or blocked accounts that seek to spread it. That's forced much of the group's activities onto platforms that have less moderation, including Telegram, Gab and Trump's struggling platform, Truth Social.

A growing list of criminal episodes has been linked to people who had expressed support for the conspiracy theory, which US intelligence officials have warned could trigger more violence.

QAnon supporters were among those who violently stormed the Capitol during the failed January 6, 2021, insurrection, which attempted to derail the results of the 2020 election.

Trump risks violating gag order and JAIL

by saying 'tyrannical' NY judge 'found him guilty' before his fraud trial began and has 'gone crazy in his hatred of Trump'

Trump risks violating gag order AGAIN by calling New York judge 'tyrannical' and 'crazy in

Donald Trump risked violating the gag order in his New York fraud trial again with an attack on the judge and the New York Attorney General Letitia James in a series of Truth Social posts on Thursday morning. Just hours after he took the stand and was fined $10,000 , the former president unleashed fresh attacks claiming 'radical left' Judge Arthur Engoron found him 'guilty before the trial even started, and long before he had the real facts'. 'The Radical Left Judge said he doesn't care,' Trump said. 'He is trying to protect RACIST A.G. Letitia James, who has no case, lost the appeal, but has a tyrannical and unhinged Trump Hating Judge.' He also described his former lawyer Michael Cohen 'collapsing and choking yesterday under cross examination, and completely admitting that I did nothing wrong'.

So Biden’s a no-show on the New Hampshire primary ballot. What happens next?

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden wasn’t successful in unseating New Hampshire from the first-in-the-nation primary slot it has held for more than a century, but his campaign’s announcement this week that he won’t appear on the state’s 2024 primary ballot has nonetheless added a new wrinkle to the contest and created complications for his campaign, state election officials, and voters.

Although several key details about next year’s New Hampshire primary have yet to be determined, the event has begun to take shape.

When is the 2024 New Hampshire primary?

State law gives New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan exclusive authority to set the date for the 2024 primary, but he has yet to do so. For 40 years, it has been held the Tuesday following the Iowa caucuses, which are scheduled for Jan. 15. State law also says the primary must be held at least seven days before any similar contest. The South Carolina Democratic primary on Feb. 3 is the earliest contest on the Democratic National Committee’s official calendar. The only Tuesday that fits within these parameters is Jan. 23.

Why won’t Biden’s name appear on the New Hampshire primary ballot?

The move is the latest development in a long-simmering dispute within the Democratic Party over which states and regions should have the first say in determining the party’s presidential nominees every four years. Iowa and New Hampshire have traditionally kicked off the nomination process for both parties, but other states have challenged their prime placement in the calendar over the years. This has resulted in states leapfrogging one another and a steadily earlier start to the primary campaign season.

Biden, who placed fifth in New Hampshire in 2020, urged Democratic Party officials last year to rejigger the primary calendar with South Carolina in the lead-off position. His 29-point win in the 2020 South Carolina primary ended his string of embarrassing early-state losses that year and put his campaign on positive footing to win the nomination. The DNC adopted the president’s proposal and scheduled the South Carolina primary to lead the party’s nomination process on Feb. 3, with New Hampshire and Nevada to follow on Feb. 6.

However, New Hampshire indicated its intent to maintain its first-in-the-nation primary status in violation of party rules and risk possible penalties from the DNC down the road. Rather than flout the rules he urged the national party to adopt, Biden chose to stay off the ballot in New Hampshire. …

good explanation here:

Rep. Matt Gaetz

I am excited for the transition from Kevin McCarthy to @SpeakerJohnson.

McCarthy was the fountainhead of mistrust in the House.Speaker Johnson is an honorable and virtuous man.

We finally have a speaker who is not totally bought and paid for by the lobbyists and special interests on K Street!
