This is not how it should be, the problem is with hypocrisy.
John 7 24 - Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.
1st Corinthians 2 15 - But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man.
You are in fact called to judge in the bible quite often. You can judge by submitting to God's will.
God dislikes hypocrisy, this is where that comes from, if you are going to judge something, you should not be doing the same thing; like a gay person complaining about people being gay.
Matthew 7 5
You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother’s eye.
