American tourist dead in Bahamas boat explosion, several others injured
A female American tourist was killed and several others were injured after a tour boat exploded and caught fire Saturday in the Bahamas, officials said.
The boat burst into flames around 9 a.m. off the island of Exuma, located about 130 miles south of Nassau, according to WPLG.
The boat was carrying a total of 12 passengers at the time, including 10 Americans and two Bahamians on board, when the explosion rocked the watercraft.
Several people from a neighboring boat jumped into the shallow waters to help, pulling one person to safety, WPLG reported.

Devin Nunes refers 17 DOJ, FBI officials to Trey Gowdy, Bob Goodlatte to grill on surveillance abuse
House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes, R-Calif., wrote a letter to fellow GOP chairmen referring the names of 17 current and former Justice Department and FBI officials to be interviewed for information related to potential surveillance abuse during the 2016 election.
The letter, sent Friday, was addressed to House Oversight Committee Chairman Trey Gowdy, R-S.C., and House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va. Nunes pressed his colleagues to reach out to these individuals because they may "have relevant information" and because the DOJ and FBI are under the purview of their panels' oversight.
“For the sake of transparency and to keep the American people as fully informed as possible about these matters, the task force should consider interviewing these individuals in an open setting,” Nunes wrote, according to the letter obtained by Fox News.

Retiring U.S. Immigration and Customs Immigration Enforcement chief official, Thomas Homan, sat down with the Washington Examiner's Anna Giaritelli to discuss his time in the agency and what can be improved upon to increase border security. Homan remarked during the interview that, of the six administrations that he has worked for, no commander-in-chief has more positively impacted the border than President Trump.
"It’s just a fact that our sitting president of one year has made a big difference," Homan said. "I've worked for six presidents. I started with Ronald Reagan…No one has done more for border [safety], public safety, and law enforcement than President Trump."

NSA deleting more than 685 million call records due to 'technical irregularities'
WASHINGTON — The National Security Agency is deleting more than 685 million call records the government obtained since 2015 from telecommunication companies in connection with investigations, raising questions about the viability of the program.
The NSA’s bulk collection of call records was initially curtailed by Congress after former NSA contractor Edward Snowden leaked documents revealing extensive government surveillance. The law, enacted in June 2015, said that going forward, the data would be retained by telecommunications companies, not the NSA, but that the intelligence agency could query the massive database.
