What the Heck Is on His Feet?

October 28, 2023 | Sundance |

This is not an intelligent man of temperate disposition. This is an empty vessel filled with the thoughts, catchphrases, and opinions of others, including his apparel.

What is this choice of goofy footwear supposed to represent?

DeSantis spoke with DailyMail.com ahead of his remarks at a breakfast with Nevada Republicans at Treasure Island on the Las Vegas Strip. (Source)

Someone once swore to me that aperson very close to DeSantis was intentionally undermining his effort because they quietly disliked(immensely) the fraudulent operation surrounding this long-planned 2024 presidential bid. I laughed it off, but they were very serious. As time goes on, and these subtle exhibitions of his authentically stupid persona surface, I no longer dismiss that prior statement.

COVID, Flu Vaccines Might Raise Risk of Strokes in Older People

Written by Jay Croft

Oct. 26, 2023 – Vaccines for COVID-19 and flu might raise the risk of strokes for older people, especially when given together and to seniors over 85, new research says.

"There is no need for panic, and emphatically no need to stop giving COVID and flu shots at the same time to older adults," Peter Chin-Hong, MD, an infectious diseases specialist at the University of California, San Francisco, told ABC News.

The results were also not yet peer reviewed, ABC News reported.

The FDA told ABC News it is "confident in the safety, effectiveness and quality of the COVID-19 vaccines that the agency has authorized and approved."

FDA researchers raised the concern after reviewing Medicare claims, CNN reported.

The FDA-identified risk is small – about three strokes or transient ischemic attacks per 100,000 doses, CNN wrote. “The study found it may be primarily driven by the high-dose or adjuvanted flu vaccines, which are specially designed to rev up the immune system so it mounts a stronger response to the shot.”

The FDA found a slightly higher risk of stroke for people 65 and older who had received only a high-dose flu shot – one to two strokes per 100,000 doses.

“The absolute risk is miniscule,” Steve Nissen, MD, of the Cleveland Clinic told CNN. “I mean it is trivial in comparison to the risk for people over 85 of dying from Covid.”

Other studies have not found any additional risk of stroke after vaccination for Covid-19, influenza, or both.

Michael Cohen Walks Back Claim Trump Asked Him to ‘Inflate’ Numbers

David LindfieldOctober 27, 2023 -

After the first day of Michael Cohen’s testimony, President Donald Trump told reporters that he would be returning to court on Wednesday. In 2019, allegations made by disgraced lawyer Cohen spurred the attorney general’s office to investigate President Trump.

At the center of the case are the Statements of Financial Condition (SFC) for the Trump Organization from 2011 to 2021. On Tuesday, Cohen said thathe personally alteredtogether several of those statements with Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg under the direction of his former boss.

Cohen, Trump’s former personal lawyer and one-time executive vice president of the Trump Organization, will continue to testify against his former boss. He is testifying in the ongoing get-Trump civil trial in the case New York Attorney General Letitia James brought against the 45th president.

James is seeking $250 million in damages to be paid to the state of New York. The NY AG is also hoping for the barring of President Trump and his adult sons from holding executive business positions in New York.

Don Jr. and Eric Trump are co-defendants in the case.

On September 26, New York Supreme Court Justice Arthur Engoron had already ruled in a pretrial summary judgment that President Trump is liable for fraud. Trump’s defense attorney Alina Habba picked up a cross-examination of Cohen on Wednesday morning.

Cohen’s cross-examination continued with Trump’s legal team questioning him about the times he lied under oath.

Trump’s attorneys said the judge had asked Cohen 50 questions when he made his guilty plea. The questions sought to ascertain that Cohen understood that he could only make this plea if he was truly guilty.

Cohen argued that he could not speak to the judge’s state of mind.Justice Engoron then called an off-record sidebar with the attorneys.

“You lied more than once in federal court, correct?”Engoron asked Cohen.“Correct,”=Cohen said.

___However, Cohen then started to walk back his previous claims.__. Cohen said that he was not lying to the Permanent Select Committee whenasked whether he was asked to inflate numbers.

“Not that I recall” Cohen previously told the Committee. On Tuesday, however, Cohen said they never “overtly” said it that way.

He then continued to testify that he had lied to the Committee. “You’re now saying that Mr. Trump did not direct you to inflate the numbers on the statements of financial condition,” defense attorneys asked.

Cohen did not answer until the judge compelled him to. “I stand with that response. ‘Not that I recall,’” he said.

“So Mr. Trump never directed you to inflate the numbers on the financial statements?”

“Correct,”Cohen said, backtracking on what he said on Tuesday. In response to Cohen’s admission, the defense requested that the case be brought to an end.

The radical judge then denied the defense’s request. Prosecutors then questioned Cohen about his priorconvictions where he pleaded guilty, and tried to enter his plea document into evidence as a consistent prior statement.

Thedefense objected, arguing that their documents were entered as a foundation to impeach the witness, whereas the prosecution was trying to “rehabilitate” a discredited witness. The judge criticized both sides for“micromanaging”little details when they had a big case to go through. (This judge is severely incompetent!)

Defense attorneys asked, again, for the case to be dismissed. They argue, rightly so, that Cohen is an unreliable witness.

“Absolutely denied,”the judge said. “This case has evidence, credible or not, all over the place. (WTF?)

“There’s a 200-page complaint … with evidence all over the place.” The judge added that he did not consider Cohen a key witness.. “There’s enough evidence in this case to fill this courtroom,” he said. (False evidence). He asked attorneys on both sides to stay and then dismissed everyone else, ending the trial for the day.

(Cohen is probably the worst hire Trump ever made. But this trial is Cohen’s revenge for Trump not taking Cohen to the WH)

KEK, CNN fails to site the violence and murders in downtown ATL are the reason they are leaving

CNN Closes Atlanta Headquarters after over 35 Years

David LindfieldOctober 29, 2023 -

CNN is closing down its original headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, after more than 35 years of operating at the location. The headquarters is shuttering following the network’s final broadcast from Atlanta on Friday.

CNN host Kate Bolduan announced the move at the beginning of Friday’s episode of “News Central CNN.” The program was the last presented by control rooms at the CNN Center in Atlanta, Bolduan revealed.

According to The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the operation is prepared to move to the renovated 30-acre Turner Techwood campus in Midtown. The move comes after more than 35 years of broadcasting from the HQ.

“Before we go today, we are marking an important moment today in CNN’s history,” Bolduan said.

“Today’s show will be the final broadcast from the CNN Center in Atlanta.”

Bolduan showed live footage of the building set to close, taking note of the “big CNN sign” on top of the structure. She noted that she and her fellow anchors work from New York.

The show’s control rooms and much of the editorial staff work from the “iconic” CNN Center, also known as CNN’s World News Headquarters.

“Starting Monday, our team there will move to a new home just a couple miles away, but it’s actually, the new home is actually the place where CNN founder Ted Turner started the network back in 1980,” Bolduan said.

Bolduan played a clip from the first broadcast from the CNN Center that showed the first episode of “Daybreak,” featuring former hosts Donna Kelley and Brian Nelson.

Following the throwback, the anchor showed footage of employees waving goodbye from CNN’s two Atlanta control rooms.

AT&T, CNN’s former parent company, sought to save money by selling the CNN Center to Florida-based real estate firms CP Group and Rialto Capital Management, according to the outlet.

Warner Bros. Discovery, CNN’s new parent company, prepared the Midtown Techwood property for Atlanta staff.

(This is the reason for so many FFs under Bidan Admin)

Biden Admin Targets Gun Manufacturers, Freezes Firearms Exports

Frank BergmanOctober 29, 2023 - 11:45 am

Democrat President Joe Biden’s administration has declared a 90-day freeze on the approval of exports for most American-made firearms.

The move comes as the Biden admin seeks to target gun manufacturers in the wake of the tragic mass shooting in Maine this week.

However, it’s unclear how restricting gun exports could have prevented the shooting in Maine. The U.S. Commerce Department declared the freeze late Fridayin an announcement seemingly timed to minimize publicity.

The move will also review the department’s support of the Shooting, Hunting, and Outdoor Trade — or “SHOT” — Show. “The review will be conducted with urgency and will enable the Department to more effectively assess and mitigate the risk of firearms being diverted to entities or activities that promote regional instability, violate human rights, or fuel criminal activities,” the department said.

This latest federal assault on the Second Amendment will apply to requests to export semiautomatic and non-automatic firearms sold to non-government recipients, Bloomberg reports.Naturally, it won’t apply to Ukraine, Israel, or some 40 other foreign governmentsthat are partners to the United States in an export-control pact.

However,it will apply to some of the most important markets for the domestic firearms industry, including Brazil, Thailand, and Guatemala. The move is raising concerns among rights advocates as a strong gun industry is essential to safeguarding the right to armed self-defense.

The Biden admin’s freeze isn’t nearly as worrisome as what new policies may be installed after the review is complete. Bloomberg, which is owned by Democrat gun control activist Mike Bloomberg, is celebratingthe announcement.

The outlet links the news to a series of articles scrutinizing the federal government’s oversight and encouragement of exports. A key milestone came in 2020 when the Trump administration moved responsibility for approving gun exports from the State Department to Commerce.

One of those recent articles focused on the SHOT Show.

The massive Las Vegas gun trade show attracts more than 50,000 gun company reps, dealers, and individuals from all over the world. Specifically, Bloomberg questioned the propriety of the Commerce Department’s participation in the SHOT Show.

The department participated via an “International Trade Center” space to host foreign buyers and promote U.S. exports, a practice that began in 2013. “In the first year of the partnership, Commerce’s Foreign Commercial Service, which operates out of US embassies and consulates, steered 370 buyers to SHOT Show,” reports Bloomberg.

“By January 2023, that number had jumped to more than 3,200.” Commerce Department employees have also organized group trips to the show from a variety of countries. Bloomberg complained that “American-style gun culture is starting to blossom across Latin America.”

The report adds that American companies, with Commerce assistance, are pouring guns into violent and volatile Guatemala. In September, Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and three other congressional Democrats sent a letter to Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo.

They expressed alarm about Commerce serving as a “booster and concierge” to the firearms industry. They noted particular concern about the export of so-called “assault weapons.”The letter included 10 detailed questions about the Commerce Department’s handling of its oversight.

The export-approval freeze comes the same week that Biden’s “gun control czar” Kamala Harris praised Australia for its approach to banning firearms.

Australia’s gun control measures include mass confiscation.. Citizens are also required to prove to the government why they need to own a gun.
