>it would turn them in to some pretty expensive shitholes by the time the natives got through with them. would keep the contractors in hookers 'n blow for a coupla years, though.

Ah, good point. We like our sex, drugs, and nepotism done by people that tryout for rowing teams at ivy league schools, yes?

So, as someone that came from this I can tell you the issue definitely is a lack of funding followed by a lack of other resources so that the young men and women growing up in these areas have at least a chance at a future. But perhaps by calling all of those that live there "natives" you are suggesting the issue is skin deep? That's pretty ignorant, but not surprising.

"Dumping money" into something simply won't fix it. Everyone gets that.

Putting no money into something will never fix it.

Everyone gets that.

Putting a tremendous amount of money into housing, beautification projects, schools, clean food, local law enforcement, public transportation, and after school programs does fix most issues.

Fatherless homes are nothing new. "Abandoned" communities are multiplying, and nobody's advocating for them. And yes, in case none of you anons have noticed, these communities are going to be growing way more rapidly now.

So yes, imagine what would happen with 14.5B in the projects when spent right, and used for the betterment of humanity. Or, sure, we could keep doing to the same stupid fucking bullshit over and over until something worse happens.
