Israeli War on Gaza Sparks ‘Largest Mass Mobilization of Jews in American History’

"We will do everything in our power to demand an end to U.S. support for genocide and apartheid," said Jewish Voice for Peace.

As Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu proclaims in genocidal undertones his army’s “holy mission” to invade Gaza, Jewish American peace activists are ramping up their nationwide effort to bring about a ceasefire in the three-week war.

“We’re watching a genocide unfold in real-time. In just three weeks, the Israeli military has killed over 8,000 Palestinians in Gaza, among them over 3,000 children,” Jewish Voice for Peace (JVP) said early Monday. “That’s more than the annual number of children killed in conflicts across the globe since 2019.”

“Jewish people all throughout the United States are protesting in unprecedented numbers against Israel’s destruction of Gaza and the United States’ unwavering support,” JVP noted, with Liv Kunins-Berkowitz, the group’s media coordinator, calling the movement “the largest mass mobilization of Jews in American history.”

JVP, along with Jewish-led groups – mainly IfNotNow – and allies have held demonstrations large and small across the United States since October 7, when Israeli forces launched their latest war on Gaza following the Hamas-led attacks on southern Israel that killed 1,400 people.

“From Albuquerque to Minneapolis, Seattle to Miami, Washington D.C. to Detroit, students, elders, faith leaders, and activists… are organizing sit-ins in congressional offices and blocking streets as they demand an immediate ceasefire in Gaza,” the group continued, adding that demonstrations have also been held in cities including Chicago, Detroit, Denver, Los Angeles, New Orleans, New York, Philadelphia, and San Francisco.

On Friday evening, thousands of JVP members and allies took over Grand Central Station in Midtown Manhattan, where more than 400 people were arrested while holding a sit-in and hanging banners that read, “Ceasefire Now,” “Never Again for Anyone,” “Palestine Should Be Free,” and “Mourn the Dead and Fight Like Hell for the Living.”

Israel Told US ‘Mass Civilian Casualties’ Were Acceptable Price of Gaza Campaign

The Pentagon has said there are 'no limits' on how Israel uses its US-provided weapons despite the massive child death toll

During conversations with Israeli officials, it became clear to the Biden administration that Israel believed “mass civilian casualties” were an acceptable price of the bombing campaign in Gaza, The New York Times reported on Monday.

The Times report said that Israeli officials referred to US and allied bombing campaigns in Germany and Japan during World War II that killed hundreds of thousands of civilians. The reference includes the US fire bombings of Japanese cities, which killed around 100,000 civilians in Tokyo in one night in 1945, as well as the dropping of the atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

Israel’s plans for mass slaughter in Gaza and the growing child death toll have not impacted US support. The Times report focused on how the Biden administration is paying lip service to the idea of limiting civilian casualties, but it acknowledged they’re not telling Israel what to do, only asking questions.

According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, at least 8,500 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza since Israel unleashed its bombing campaign after the October 7 Hamas attack. The total includes over 3,500 children.

When asked if the US will put limits on Israel’s use of US-provided weapons in light of the child casualties, Pentagon spokeswoman Sabrina Singh said no. “We are not putting any limits on how Israel uses weapons that is provided. That is really up to the Israel Defense Force to use in how they are going to conduct their operations. But we’re not putting any constraints on that,” she said.

President Biden has accused the Palestinians of lying about the death toll, but Gaza’s Health Ministry is considered reliable, and the numbers reflect the massive number of bombs Israel has dropped on the enclave. UN officials told The Wall Street Journal that they believe the death toll is likely much higher since it doesn’t include people still under the rubble.

Israel-Palestine War: For UK Mainstream Media, What Israel Says Goes

The media coverage of the genocidal war on Gaza shows that it is still ingrained in the western psyche that Israel, not its Palestinian victims, has the benefit of the doubt

Israel to cut Gaza links after war, said a Financial Times headline last weekend, with no attribution or quotation marks. As if such a cut could happen.

What Israel says goes.

This sums up much of western mainstream media coverage of Israel and Palestine over the past 22 years, and especially the BBC’s. This is because, since the Second Intifada in 2001, the realities and origins of Israel’s 75-year campaign to oust or subdue the Palestinians have never been properly explained.

The long displacement of the Palestinian nation and its reduction by means of expulsion, attrition, containment and violence have rarely been granted corrective context in our media.

Now, it seems the BBC and others are making desperate attempts to put this right, with background analysis and explanatory programmes, such as the series last week on BBC Radio 4, Understand: Israel and the Palestinians. But it is all much too late.

Israel, after the 7 October attack by Palestinian fighters, has been able to grasp the moral high ground and portray the breakout and killings as “unprovoked”, with western reporters’ acceptance. It became, in the eyes of the West, simply a robust response to terrorism.

In the same FT, HA Hellyer, from the Royal United Services Institute, a London military think-tank, is quoted repeating points by analysts such as Greg Philo and Mike Berry, in their two books Bad News from Israel and More Bad News from Israel, and myself, in the Guardian and elsewhere, made during and after the Second Intifada.

“There are scores of international journalists in Israel who can cover every detail of every atrocity,” Hellyer said. “But there is nothing of similar depth available when it comes to the incredible civilian catastrophe unfolding in Gaza.”

This, crucially, he went on, has the effect of dehumanising Palestinian victims.

“This means… ” he said, “that westerners are more immune to Palestinian civilian suffering than to Israeli suffering.”

So, basically, Israelis are “people like us”, and Palestinians are an incoherent and anonymous mass.

Israel’s Government Plans to Delay Freedom of Information Requests

A blatant blow to transparency is looming over Israel as the government led by Prime Minister Netanyahu drafts legislation aimed at curtailing the right to information – an indispensable cornerstone of a free society, rights groups say. The controversial law, if passed, threatens to blindfold journalists and the Israeli citizenry, hindering them from delving into their government’s management of one of the nation’s most important events in recent history.

Respect for the freedom of information reflects a government’s commitment towards upholding democratic values. In clever parlance, it is the lifeblood of an informed, enlightened public sphere capable of holding power accountable. Therefore, Netanyahu’s move to shroud the government activities in secrecy is a disconcerting nod towards censorship.

The Freedom of Information Law mandates Israeli public bodies to reply to information requests within 30 days. They can delay their response by an additional 30 days without justification and up to two more months if they provide a reason. However, following a recent Justice Ministry directive, decisions by government agencies due after the war began on October 7 will be deferred by seven months, encompassing freedom of information inquiries.

The new legislation, touted by critics as an attempt to suppress free speech and accurate reporting, reinforces the urgency required to defend transparency.

By restricting the reedom of information, Netanyahu’s government seems to tread a perilous path that blurs the line between national security and oppression. Notably, Israel is not unique in facing this crisis, rather it adds to the growing list of countries that, under the guise of crises, dilute democratic norms and rights.

Turkey Is Preparing An Israeli War Crimes Case For The Hague's ICC

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan is apparently trying to make good on his threats issued before a large pro-Palestinian rally last week saying that he would "present Israel before the world" as a "war criminal" state.

Turkish media is reporting Tuesday that officials are exploring ways to bring a war crimes case centered on Israel before the International Criminal Court (ICC). This was announced as the death toll in Gaza soars past 8,500.

Erdogan had told a crowd of hundreds of thousands in Istanbul on Saturday, "Israel, we will also declare you as a war criminal to the world, we are preparing for it, and we will introduce Israel to the world as a war criminal," according to a state broadcaster. "Israel is committing war crimes" as an "occupier." He added: the "West owes you, but Türkiye does not owe you."

But the only problem with Turkey bringing a war crimes case is that the country is not a party to the Rome Statute, which is the international treaty that established the ICC.

Turkey's Daily Sabah explains:

Thus, it cannot directly apply to the court. However, it can notify the Prosecutor’s office at the ICC through government agencies and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs) about crimes against humanity. Under the Rome Statute’s Article 15, the Prosecutor may initiate investigations proprio motu (on one's own initiative) based on information on crimes within the jurisdiction of the ICC. Therefore, Türkiye can issue notices about crimes committed by the Israeli government.

The publication also cited the following example, along with various statements of UN officials decrying Israel's seeming indiscriminate attacks on civilians and civilian infrastructure in Gaza:

ICC’s chief Prosecutor Karim Khan was at the Rafah crossing between Egypt and Gaza over the weekend and issued a stark warning to Israel, suggesting that obstructing the flow of humanitarian aid into Gaza could potentially be considered a criminal act. "Impeding relief supplies as provided by the Geneva Conventions may constitute a crime within the court’s jurisdiction," Khan stated.

Khan has also said, "Israel has clear obligations about its war with Hamas, not just moral obligations but legal obligations."

In response to Erdogan's blistering denunciations, Israel has withdrawn all of its diplomats from Turkey…

Amnesty International Says Israeli Forces Wounded Lebanese Civilians With White Phosphorus

The human rights group Amnesty International says civilians in southern Lebanon were injured this month when Israeli forces hit a border village with shells containing white phosphorus

The human rights group Amnesty International said Tuesday that civilians in southern Lebanon were injured this month when Israeli forces hit a border village with shells containing white phosphorus, a controversial incendiary munition.

The organization said it verified three other instances of Israel's military dropping white phosphorus on Lebanese border areas in the past month, but Amnesty said it did not document any harm to civilians in those cases.

Human rights advocates say the use of white phosphorus is illegal under international law when the white-hot chemical substance is fired into populated areas. It can set buildings on fire and burn human flesh down to the bone. Survivors are at risk of infections and organ or respiratory failure, even if their burns are small.

After an Oct. 16 Israeli strike in the town of Duhaira, houses and cars caught fire and nine civilians were rushed to the hospital with breathing problems from the fumes, Amnesty said. The group said it had verified photos that showed white phosphorus shells lined up next to Israeli artillery near the tense Lebanon-Israel border.

The organization described the incident as an “indiscriminate attack” that harmed civilians and should be “investigated as a war crime."

Blinken Admits Hamas Will Get Hands On U.S. Aid

On Tuesday, while he was testifying in front of the Senate Appropriations Committee, Secretary of State Anthony Blinken admitted that Hamas will get its hands on some of the aid the U.S. is sending to Gaza.

During his testimony, he also refused to guarantee that U.S. taxpayer dollars were not used to fund the October 7 attack on Israel.

From Fox News:

“Can I promise you in this committee that there’ll be 100% delivery to the designated recipients? No, there will inevitably be some spillage,” he said. “We haven’t seen it to date, but I think we have to anticipate that. But the overwhelming, overwhelming majority of the assistance thus far is getting to people who need it. And we need more.”

However, Biden spokesperson John Kirby said there’s no indication that Hamas has gotten its hands on any of the aid the U.S. has sent.

US Developing Offensive Biological Program - Russian Defense Ministry

The United States is trying to restore the technologies for large-scale production of formulations for an offensive biological program, said Commander of the Russian Nuclear, Biological and Chemical Defense Forces Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov.

Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov stated that in March this year, Washington approved a new strategy for the production of biological weapons. According to the document, the goal of this program is to "ensure technological sovereignty in the field of bioproduction and surpass strategic competitors".

"Such wording, along with the use of a high-performance technological infrastructure and the involvement of specialists with experience in dual-use research, may indicate that the United States is attempting to restore the technologies for large-scale production of biological formulations as part of an offensive biological program," the general said.

Biden DHS pulls agents off child trafficking to focus on making food for illegal immigrants: whistleblower

DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas refused to deny the allegations.

"Are there HSI special agents who are currently at the border having them pulled away from other cases?" Senator Josh Hawley asked DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas during a senate hearing on Tuesday.

"Combatting the fight against fentanyl, yes," Mayorkas said. Hawley, however, had spoken to a whistleblower involved in law enforcement at the border who had a different view.

"How many agents are currently at the border having been pulled off their other cases?" Hawley asked.

"To fight the scourge of fentanyl?" Mayorkas said, "I'd be very pleased to provide you with that data."

"That's not what the special agent is alleging, that's not what she said," Hawley continued, bringing receipts. "She said that they're being taken off fentanyl interdiction, off of child exploitation cases, off of their other investigations into criminals to make sandwiches. That's her quote. You're saying this is a lie? That she's wrong?"

Maoyorkas gave a broad statement. "Senator, we have a number of law enforcement priorities."

"Is making sandwiches one of them?" Hawley asked.

"Is she wrong?" Hawley asked. Mayorkas refused to answer the question directly, and Hawley asked again if DHS agents are being used to "make sandwiches" and "babysit" illegal immigrants at the US-Mexico border. Nearly 7 million illegal immigrants have crossed the border into the US since Joe Biden took the White House.

Hawley said that his source claimed that 600 agents had been pulled from their jobs in order to "babysit" illegal immigrants.

Phone and internet connections in Gaza briefly go dark again as war rages

Paltel company says services ‘completely cut off’; global monitor group reports ‘total loss of telecommunications by most residents’; services gradually restored hours later

Internet and phone networks were completely down for several hours across the Gaza Strip on Wednesday, a Palestinian telecommunications provider said, in the second such blackout in the territory in less than a week, as war rages between Israel and the Hamas terror group.

“To our good people in the beloved country, we are sorry to announce that communications and internet services have been completely cut off in Gaza,” the Palestine Telecommunications Company (Paltel) said on X early Wednesday

Global network monitor Netblocks confirmed that Gaza “is in the midst of a new internet blackout with high impact to the last remaining major operator, Paltel.”

“The incident will be experienced as a total loss of telecommunications by most residents,” it said in a post on X.

Attempts to reach Gaza residents by phone were unsuccessful early Wednesday.

Israel-Palestine War: Western Powers Giving ‘Warrant for Genocide’, Says Prominent Israeli Historian

Avi Shlaim told an audience in London that the international community was guilty of 'hypocrisy and ruthless double standards'

Avi Shlaim, a prominent Israeli-British historian and emeritus professor of international relations at Oxford University, told an audience in London that US, UK, and European Union support for Israel – including military support – have made them complicit in “mass slaughter” in the Gaza Strip.

“The Western response to the crisis is the usual hypocrisy and ruthless double standards, but this time it’s been taken to a new level. The western love of Israel has always been accompanied, has always depended on the erasing of Palestinian history and humanity,” he said at an event on Monday, hosted by the International Centre of Justice for Palestinians (ICJP).

“Deep concern for Israel’s security is reiterated at all times by western leaders – but not a thought is given to Palestinian security.”

27 ATTACKS TARGETED U.S. BASES IN IRAQ AND SYRIA: PENTAGON

United States forces in Iraq and Syria have been attacked with drones or rockets at least 27 times over the past two weeks, the Pentagon said on October 31.

During a press briefing, Pentagon press secretary Brigadier General Pat Ryder said that 16 of these attacks took place in Iraq and 11 in Syria.

At least six of these attacks were carried out, three in Iraq and three in Syria, after U.S. forces struck on October 26 two facilities in the eastern Syria governorate of Deir Ezzor used by Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and affiliated groups.

Another wave of strikes hit trucks near the al-Baukamal border crossing between Syria and Iraq on October 29. However, the U.S. didn’t claim responsibility.

“To my knowledge, [there were] no injuries, no damage to infrastructure,” Ryder said, answering a question about the results of the recent attacks on U.S. forces.

The Islamic Resistance in Iraq, a coalition of Iranian-backed armed factions, claimed responsibility for most recent attacks on U.S. forces in the country and neighboring Syria, saying that they were carried out in response to the Israeli war on the Palestinian Gaza Strip.

In two separate statements released on October 31 and November 1, the coalition said that it had attacked U.S. forces deployed at Ayn al-Assad Air Base in the western Iraqi province of al-Anbar and a garrison in the southeastern Syrian area of al-Tanf with drones. No losses were reported in Ayn al-Assad, and the attack on al-Tanf was supposedly foiled.

Ryder announced during the same press briefing that the Pentagon was deploying 300 more troops to the Middle East region “to support regional deterrence efforts and further bolster U.S. force protection capabilities.”

“They aren’t going to Israel,” Ryder said.

The announcement came just a few days after the Pentagon said it was deploying some 900 troops and a dozen air defense systems in the region.

The U.S. appears to be preparing for a serious confrontation in the Middle East with Iran and its allies as it continues to provide unconditional support for the Israeli war on Gaza. Attacks on U.S. forces in the region will likely continue as long as the war is ongoing.

Authorities in Maine Withholding the Drugs Authorized to Mass Murderer Robert Card and Who Made the Authorization

What is even more alarming is that law enforcement agencies in Maine had been alerted weeks before the incident about “veiled threats” made by Card.

As The Gateway Pundit previously reported, the Maine Information and Analysis Center released information regarding the suspected shooter.

Card is recognized as a skilled firearms instructor and is thought to be affiliated with the Army Reserve, based in Saco, Maine.

Law enforcement agencies have disclosed that Card has recently experienced mental health challenges, including auditory hallucinations and making threats against the National Guard Base in Saco. It has also been reported that Card was admitted to a mental health institution for a fortnight in the summer of 2023 before being released.

According to the News Center Maine, Sagadahoc County Sheriff Joel Merry had sent deputies to Card’s home in September after receiving a tip from the U.S. Army Reserve that Card had issued “veiled threats” against an Army base.

Authorities were unable to locate him, and they moved on.

“We couldn’t locate him,” Merry said, adding that he couldn’t recall if there was any follow-up.

An “awareness alert” was then sent to all of the state’s law enforcement agencies.

Saco Police Chief Jack Clements even deployed officers to patrol the local Army base where Card had trained, but they also came up empty-handed.

“We added extra patrols, we did that for about two weeks. … The guy never showed up,” said Jack Clements.

Despite the alerts and the efforts to locate him, Card was not on the FBI’s radar before the shootings.

The agency told AP that they “were not provided with or in possession of any information that would have prohibited Card from a lawful firearm purchase.”
