But

He is a constitutionalist and had 30-40 years in him. Clerked for Rehnquist who was Chief Justice.

IMO good choice for RBG or Sotamayor position when it opens up.

He’s not on list because he’s up for re-election and they need to keep his seat.

After election, he is free and TX gov…currently Greg Abbott would appoint new R senator.
