I first saw this in Septmber of 2016 early one morning when someone tapped me on the shoulder inside a research thread and said (in response to my despairing "do we even exist?") to be assured someone from Gowdy's staff was watching what we were finding and directed me / us to this very speech. Okay well whatever you believe about having our hands held, the speech is real.

The whole thing is worth watching but I think I have it cued up to the most pertinent part in answering the question about the nature of Gowdy.

A federal grand jury indicted Sherlekar and four other medical professionals on June 28 in an alleged kickback scheme totaling around $1.37 million that was linked to the Frederick-based pain management practice. The indictment was unsealed last week.

Sherlekar’s arraignment was set for Oct. 7, according to online court records.

The other co-founder of the American Spine Center, Dr. Atif Malik, was one of the five indicted. His trial date has not been set.
