as he abruptly cancels migrant crisis meetings with Biden and returns from DC to 'deal with a matter'
Eric Adams' (left)' top fundraiser, Brianna Sugg (middle), had her Brooklyn home (right) raided by FBI agents on Thursday. The agents seen entering her property reportedly belong to the public corruption unit. Adams was on his way to Washington DC for meetings to discuss the city's migrant crisis when he learned of the raid. The mayor turned around and canceled the meetings, saying he had to 'deal with a matter' in New York. With Suggs' help, he has raised more than $2.5million for his re-election campaign. The pair have worked together since 2017, when she joined his office of the Brooklyn Borough President to work as an administrative intern.

While Biden has asked Congress for $1.4billion to help local governments shelter and aid migrants, the five mayors say in a letter to the present outlining the crisis that they need a whopping $5billion. 'Our cities need additional resources that far exceed the amount proposed in order to properly care for the asylum seekers entering our communities,' the mayors' letter says. 'Relying on municipal budgets is not sustainable and has forced us to cut essential city services.' Adams is perhaps the mayor who has been most vocal about the migrant crisis after the city has been overwhelmed with new arrivals. He was scheduled to lobby DC officials with the other mayors, but rushed back to NYC just minutes before a meeting was supposed to take place to deal with an unspecified matter.
