Thousands of Israelis Take to the Streets Calling for Palestinian Genocide

The Tel Aviv rally—organized to support an Israeli soldier who murdered a wounded Palestinian by shooting him in the head as the victim lay on his back—was marked by chants and banners calling for mass murder.

Massive rallies and Facebook campaigns calling for Palestinian genocide are ignored by Western mainstream media and Facebook despite concerns and collaborations aimed at stopping “calls to violence”.

Since last October, the Israeli government has accused Palestinians and their allies of “inciting violence” against Israelis, despite the fact that only 34 Israelis have died in that time frame compared to 230 Palestinians. The uptick in violence has been attributed to an internationally condemned Israeli encroachment of Palestinian lands in the contested West Bank.

Israeli government concern over recent violence has led them to arrest Palestinians for social media content that could potentially lead to crimes. So far, 145 Palestinians have been arrested this year for “pre-crime” via social media “incitement.” This practice eventually led to a collaboration between Facebook and the Israeli government, whose joint effort to curb social media “incitement” has led to the banning of several Facebook accounts of Palestinian journalists and news agencies.

However, social media, as well as mainstream Western media, have failed to condemn Israeli “incitement” against Palestinians, a practice that is surprisingly common considering the little to no attention it receives. Often these anti-Palestinian posts, pictures, and rallies are rife with calls for genocide, with cries of “Death to the whole Arab nation” and “Kill them all” surprisingly common.

Even the Times of Israel ran an op-ed article about “When Genocide is Permissible” in reference to Israel’s treatment of Palestinians. Though the post was eventually taken down, it points to an all-too-common and dangerous mentality that social media, the Israeli government, and Western media “conveniently” ignore.

An Israeli news agency even put the then-suspected preferential treatment to the test and found that Facebook and the Israeli authorities treated calls for revenge from Palestinians and Israelis very differently.

Even massive rallies calling for Palestinian genocide have been ignored entirely by social media and the corporate press. Earlier this year in April, a massive anti-Palestinian rally took place in Tel Aviv where thousands called for the death of all Arabs. The rally was organized to support an Israeli soldier who killed an already-wounded Palestinian by shooting him execution-style in the head.

Inside Socorro Bayanihan Services Inc, the alleged doomsday cult under investigation in the Philippines

When Jey Rence Quilario was just 17 years old, he managed to convince the members of his small Filipino village that he was their only saviour.

In the aftermath of a devastating earthquake in 2019, villagers say the charismatic young man warned survivors that a wave of aftershocks and tsunamis would send them all to hell — unless they followed him to paradise.

Dozens followed Quilario, also known as Senior Agila, into the mountains to start a new life, with many selling their homes in Sitio Kapihan.

Those who did so were allegedly encouraged to give 40 per cent of their salaries, government benefits, and profits from property sales directly to the newly established Socorro Bayanihan Services Inc (SBSI).

For years, little was known about the secretive mountain community.

But this year a number of members, including children, managed to escape and began to share harrowing stories of life inside the elusive cult-like group.

"They have child marriages, they have forced labour for the children and for the adults, and they are training children to be warriors, to be soldiers of God," Fionah Bojos, an attorney from Cebu for Human Rights who met with survivors, told the ABC.

The man they thought was the reincarnation of Jesus had promised them heaven but delivered hell.

Now, Senior Agila and 12 of his loyal followers are facing charges of human trafficking, kidnapping and illegal detention.

And there are fears their "soldiers of God" could be about to retaliate.

Child survivors share allegations of rape, forced labour

The details of what happened inside SBSI first began to emerge in September, when testimonies from villagers gathered by human rights lawyers made their way to the Philippine Senate.

Senator Risa Hontiveros, head of the Committee on Public Order and Dangerous Drugs, used parliamentary privilege to reveal the allegations in late September and call for a congressional inquiry.

The inquiry brought together survivors and leaders of Socorro Bayanihan Services Inc, including Quilario.

Some of the most harrowing evidence came from child survivors like "Jane", who wore a hoodie, dark glasses and a mask to hide her identity as she sat just metres from her alleged abuser.

She told the hearing that at just 14, she was forced to marry an 18-year-old man and told she must have sex with him, and that if she refused, he had permission to rape her.

She said other girls had been forced to marry at just 12 years old and were forced to have sex with Quilario as well as their "husbands".

Two 12-year-old boys, given the aliases Renz and Coco, testified that they were subjected to hard labour and military training by Quilario's private army.

The First Amendment right of defendants and their attorneys to comment on my staff is far and away outweighed by the need to protect them from threats and physical harm.”

OIG Inspectors Sent to McMurdo Station in Antarctica, to Tackle Its Culture of Rape and Sexual Assault

Down at the White Continent, it’s every woman for herself.

McMurdo Station is a United States Antarctic research station on the south tip of Ross Island, on the shore of McMurdo Sound in Antarctica.

‘Mac-Town’, as the station people call it, is a cluster of buildings hugging the frozen shore, operated by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

It’s the largest community in Antarctica, with up to 1,200 residents, a hub for American activities on the ‘snow desert’, a place tasked with doing science that can’t be done anywhere else on earth.

It’s also a place reportedly riddled with rape, sexual assault and sexual harassment.

Now, the watchdog office overseeing the NSF is sending investigators to Antarctica’s McMurdo Station to tackle concerns about the prevalence of sexual violence at the U.S. research base.

Associated Press reported:

“Meanwhile the NSF, a federal agency, said it’s furthering its own efforts to address the ‘pervasive problem’. It announced Friday it is appointing Renée Ferranti as a special assistant to the NSF director to focus on sexual assault and harassment prevention and response.”

An AP investigation in August showed women at McMurdo Station who said their claims of harassment or assault were minimized, leading to them or others being put in further danger.

The NSF Office of Inspector General is sending investigators for a site visit from Oct. 30 through Nov. 17.

“’We are in the process of expanding our investigative mission to include the investigation of criminal violations that occur in Antarctica’, Lisa Vonder Haar, the chief of staff for the OIG, wrote in an email to the AP confirming the visit. ‘Such violations include aggravated sexual abuse, sexual abuse, abusive sexual contact, and stalking’.”

Vonder Haar said its special agents ‘have been responding remotely’ to complaints from workers in Antarctica since July. The OIG now plans to have a presence on the ice during future summers.

One woman in the AP report siad she felt compelled to carry a hammer – for protection – at all times. Another reported that a colleague had groped her – but was made to work alongside him again.

Yet another woman said that bosses downgraded her allegations from ‘rape’ to ‘harassment’.

Israeli MP Says It Clearly for World to Hear: 'Erase All of Gaza From the Face of the Earth

"Still questioning a genocidal intent?" asked one human rights campaigner.

An Israeli lawmaker from the ruling right-wing Likud Party on Wednesday offered fresh evidence that the Israeli government's aim in its bombardment of Gaza is a genocidal effort to kill or forcibly remove the more than 2 million Palestinians living there, declaring, "Gaza should be erased."

With the support of the United States and other Western countries, Israel has claimed since October 7—when Hamas launched a surprise attack on southern Israel, killing as many as 1,400 people and taking more than 200 hostage—that its bombardment of Gaza is necessary to destroy the armed group, even though the IDF has repeatedly struck civilian targets and killed nearly 9,000 Palestinians so far, including over 3,500 children.

After screening a 45-minute montage of footage taken by Hamas fighters' body cameras during the October 7 attack, Knesset member and former Public Diplomacy Minister Galit Distal Atbaryan posted on Facebook that Israeli officials must invest all their energy "in one thing: erasing all of Gaza from the face of the Earth."

"That the brave monsters will fly to the southern fence and enter Egyptian territory," Atbaryan continued, an apparent reference to Israel's reported plan to permanently expel Palestinians who survive the assault to Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, imposing a "second Nakba" on the population. "Or let them die… Gaza needs to be wiped out."

"Revengeful and vicious IDF is required here," she continued. "Anything less than that is immoral."

Atbaryan's post signified "genocidal intent, clearly expressed," said author and former Irish Times environmental editor Frank McDonald.
