Lots to find.
In recent years, more & more people are waking up to the understanding that there is a lot that does not make sense in the conventional world view, or "consensus reality". Everything is tainted with corruption and deception: news reporting, pharmaceutical data, politics and history to name just a few.
Worse than that, there are active efforts to suppress the truth, as many discovered during the covid era.
When official facts are fiction, could some fiction be fact?
In a world where people are persecuted for speaking the truth, is it possible that meaningful truths can be disguised as fiction?
From Bletchley Park to 007 (1/7)
At Bletchley Park, the British World War 2 codebreaking centre, many of those recruited came from the theatre world - actors, musicians and dancers, and they knew how to make their own wartime fun to keep their spirits up through dark times.
In fact, the codebreakers spent so much time putting on theatrical performances it seems like a miracle that they got any "real" work done.
Or perhaps that was the point. Non-verbal comms?

From Bletchley Park to 007 (2/7)
Bletchley Park turned out to be quite a talent incubator in the fields of fiction and poetry.
After the war, several codebreakers and intelligence operatives went on to have successful publishing careers.
Of these, the most famous is undoubtedly Ian Fleming, Assistant to the Director of Naval Intelligence, who created the character James Bond, Agent 007. Bond has become one of the most famous film franchises in the world.
Bond at Bletchley - from the official Ian Fleming website
Bletchley Park is the home of British codebreaking and a birthplace of modern information technology. It played a major role in the Second World War, decrypting secret intelligence which had a direct and profound influence on the outcome of the conflictโฆ The site is now an accredited museum dedicated to telling the story of Bletchley Parkโs achievements and the people who worked there during the War.
One of those people was Ian Fleming, who visited Bletchley Park on several occasions during the War, in his role as Assistant to the Director of Naval Intelligence. This was a position that gave him access to the very depths of British Intelligence, during a time of critical national security. Fleming had clearance to read Ultra reports, the highest British security classification, and some influence over Bletchley staff appointments. He was responsible for intelligence coordination and planning, contriving ways to intercept signals material.

It's definitely beyond the realm of possibility that all 4 of my grandparents were involved in Bletchley intel ops. Ok, sure, they all knew each other during the war before they even got married and had children, they all had the right jobs and skill sets and went on to play highly relevant roles in the post-war era, but it must be a coincidence.
It's not like they could have planned it or anything. That's just farfetched. Crazy talk!

Story = Information Technology
Stories are complex forms of communication that carry deeper meaning than is obvious than the surface reading.
Stories that are carried forward through time are those that people found useful enough to remember and share.
A lot of real information can be wrapped up in the pretty package of a story.
Stories can help us understand a complicated situation through metaphor and analogy: "it's like whenโฆ".
For example: it's like when David beat Goliath even though everyone thought Goliath would obviously win; it's like when Luke Skywalker was fighting Darth Vader and found out that Darth Vader was his own father.
Stories can act as playbooks: manuals of strategy & tactics.
Stories can prompt us to ask deeper questions or to look at the world in a new way.
Stories can be used to secretly distribute information that would otherwise be censored and suppressed.

My favourite Bond trope is the one where 007 manipulates the villain into not killing him yet, or killing him very, very slowly. The villain, sure of his success, discloses the entire evil plan, then leaves, allowing Bond to miraculously escape and foil the plot.
I love that one.

Incidentally, Olivia Newton-John, the singer and actress who starred in the hit movie Grease, had a family connection to Bletchley Park. Her father, MI5 intelligence officer Brinley Newton-John, worked there as a code-breaker. In between breaking Enigma codes, Brin Newton-John was another one of those theatrical Bletchley Parkers who loved to put on shows during the war.
On her mother's side, her grandfather was Max Born, a German physicist who was instrumental in the devlopment of quantum mechanics.

Jedi Knights in the real world (1/5)
At the birth of the 21st century, an interesting social movement emerged: people began identifying their official religion as "Jedi", or "Jedi Knight".
A highly successful grassroots campaign led to many in the U.K., Australia and New Zealand claiming Jedi Knight as their religion in the 2001 census. In England and Wales, "Jedi" was reported as the fourth largest religion.
In England and Wales, 390,127 people (almost 0.8%) stated their religion as Jedi on their 2001 Census forms, surpassing Sikhism, Judaism, and Buddhism, and making it the fourth largest reported religion in the country.[33] In the 2001 census, 2.6% of the population of Brighton claimed to be Jedi. The percentages of religious affiliations were:
Christian: 70%
No religion: 16%
Chose not to respond: 7.8%
Muslim: 3.1%
Hindu: 2.1%
Jedi: 0.7%
Over 53,000 people listed themselves as Jedi in New Zealand's 2001 census. New Zealand had the highest per capita population of reported Jedi in the world that year, with 1.5% marking "Jedi" as their religion.
In Australia, more than 70,000 people (0.37%) declared themselves members of the Jedi order in the 2001 censusโฆ The push for Australians to declare themselves as members of the Jedi order was one of the first examples of a concept going "viral" on the internet in Australia.

An Introduction to Jedi Religion for Beginners
Jedi believe in the Force, a specific energy that flows through all things and binds the universe together. They also believe that humans can tap into or shape the Force to unlock greater potential. Many Jedi also view themselves as guardians of truth, knowledge, and justice, and actively promote such ideals.
Many Jedi consider their beliefs to be a religion. Some, however, prefer to label them as a philosophy, personal development movement, way-of-life, or lifestyle.
Jedi Religion, or Jediism, continues to be an incredibly decentralized system of belief.

Jedi Knights in the real world (3/5)
For those of you who identify as religious, please understand that many official religions have become corrupted. Many of us fled from the religions we were born into, driven away by the stench of absolute evil. If this wasn't your experience, you are lucky indeed!
The problem of systemic sexual abuse of children in the churches is far worse than most people are willing to admit. Further, many religions focus on accumulating worldly power, instead of teaching people how to walk with God (the Force). Spiritual teachings are misinterpreted to control people, leading to shame and confusion, and doing deep damage to believers' relationship with God. All of these can be considered "spiritual abuse", and these problems are very widespread.
In this situation, people become lost and afraid, not knowing who to trust or where to turn for advice.
How do we remedy this disastrous situation?
One solution is to cut out the religious component and to adopt a simple code of ethics that encourages people to choose truth instead of lies, justice instead of tyranny, compassion instead of hatred and, fundamentally, good instead of evil.
The 21st century phenomenon of people adopting the identity of Jedi Knights is just one example of this.
Jedi Knights in the real world (4/5)
In our real-world battle of good versus evil, the original Star Wars movies provide a good analogy in their discussion of the light and dark sides of the Force. When someone succumbs to greed or hatred, we can describe them as "going to the Dark Side".
These concepts of dark and light get right down to the root of what it's like to be human, and to struggle both with emotions and with ethical choices.
We all have a choice to make. Choose wisely.
Do what is right.
