To: US Employees and Leaders of US Employees

This urgent alert is regarding a major banking issue being experienced across the United States today that has resulted in some of Nutrien's US-based employees not yet receiving their pay, which was to be deposited today.

We understand the potential inconvenience caused by this issue tied to the Federal Reserve and the US banking system that has impacted all companies, not just Nutrien.

From our own internal investigation that we immediately started after we became aware of this issue, here's what we learned.

* US Retail and legacy Agrium employees seem to be most affected, but it may not be limited to those groups.

* There may be other related impacts (e.g., vendor payments), but we're still identifying those.

Meanwhile, as we continue to work diligently with our banking experts to resolve the matter, here's how we plan to address this.

* We are actively working with our banks to resend today's payroll and we expect payments to be made by the end of the day.

* Important note: While we are working hard to determine who has and has not been impacted, in our efforts to ensure no Nutrien employees go unpaid today, the possibility exists that some employees may end up getting paid twice. in such instances, we will follow up with you in the days ahead with next steps on how that will be managed.

We are committed to looking after our employees and ensuring this impact to you is minimal. We will followup in the coming days to provide guidance to those impacted.

If you have questions related to this matter and related impacts, we suggest that you follow-up with your bank. All US banks are aware of this widespread issue.
