The reason the "Dog Star" is different from other stars is because it's alleged to be a twin Star with our Sun.
It's so "close" relative to other stars that it moves near the Sun, like planet Mercury.
So it rises with the Sun. Or right before the Sun does, at the same time/ day, every year.
