The man Israel was born as Jacob, grandson of Abraham. He was renamed to Israel when he wrestled the angel. Gen 32:28 “And he said, Thy name shall be called no more Jacob, but Israel: for as a prince hast thou power with God and with men, and hast prevailed.” The Strongs Concordance says that “Israel” means “he will rule as God.” Israel’s sons comprise the patriarchs of the tribes of Israel, with Joseph’s lineage being further divided into Ephraim and Manasseh. Their descendants are often referred to as the cultivated olive tree.
Christians find in the Bible that they should bless Israel. It appears that this applies to all of Abraham’s children, actually.
Gen 12:3 “I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
It should be noted that Abraham’s seed includes the Arabs, though it would seem that the Jews (descendants of Judah) claim this promise only for themselves.
When other groups have adopted the Jewish or Christian religion for their own, they are referred to as a wild olive branch grafted in. Some of those claiming to be Jews are not even Semite. Semitic people are those descended from Noah’s son Shem. Ashkenazi Jews are descended from Ashkenaz, who is a grandson of Noah’s son Japheth. Gen 10:2-3. They are of a different nation entirely, grafted in through their adoption of the Jewish religion. And this may be just one example of how a Jew may not be Semitic at all.
The tribes of Israel are not necessarily the same as the current day nation of Israel.
The Christian also has this verse to consider: Rev 2:9 “I know your works, tribulation, and poverty (but you are rich); and I know the blasphemy of those who say they are Jews and are not, but are a synagogue of Satan.”
No one is going to earn points in Heaven for supporting an imposter. There may indeed be those of the true lineage of Israel living in the current nation of Israel, but some are not. The Arab residents of Israel may have greater claim to the blessings and cursings of Gen 12:3 than do secular or even Satanic non-semitic “Jews.”
To complicate things further, Melissa of Freedom Force Battalion has found research which would indicate that several of the tribes of Israel went up into Europe and settled there. If so, then many Europeans would also be of the true lineage of Israel. A declaration to support Biblical Israel would also mean supporting the European lineages of those tribes that moved into Europe.
