Four Arab Nations Refuse to Host EU Reception Centers for Refugees

Egypt rejected the idea, agreed during a recent EU summit, to ease tensions over migration in the bloc, but praised the German chancellor’s intentions to improve the situation in the refugees’ homelands. Albania, Morocco, Tunisia and Algeria have also spoken against disembarkation facilities for refugees on their territories.

The speaker of Egypt’s Parliament, Ali Abd al-Aal, has objected to the creation of reception centers for migrants on its territory, supported by the EU summit on June 28.

"EU reception facilities for migrants in Egypt would violate the laws and constitution of our country. The Egyptian law allows in general no establishment of refugee camps," Abd al-Aal, who co-authored the 2014 Egyptian Constitution, told the German newspaper Die Welt.

Florida - Professor Arrested for Stalking Student, Sending Her 800 Texts a Day

A Florida college professor relentlessly stalked a student, creepily following her around and messaging her hundreds of times a day.

The police report identifies the stalker as 39-year-old Ali Borj, an assistant computer science professor at the University of Central Florida. Borj was arrested at his on-campus office and charged with two misdemeanor stalking counts.

Snowden Slams "Corrupt" Russian Government Amid Rumors He's "Bargaining Chip" In Trump-Russia Summit

As President Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin prepare for their historic summit in Helsinki, where they're expected to try to work out a compromise that could open the door to Russia returning to the G-8 - or at least a softening of US sanctions - speculation is mounting that Edward Snowden, the former government contractor, who blew the lid off the NSA's expansive domestic surveillance programs, is being considered by his Russian handlers as a potential bargaining chip, according to the Duran.

This, despite the fact that Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has repeatedly insisted that the Russian government has no plans to hand over Snowden to the US, where he would likely face a lengthy prison sentence.

"I have never discussed Edward Snowden with [Donald Trump’s] administration," Lavrov told Channel 4’s Cathy Newman. He added that President Vladimir Putin had addressed the issue years ago, however.

"When he was asked the question, he said this is for Edward Snowden to decide. We respect his rights, as an individual. That is why we were not in a position to expel him against his will, because he found himself in Russia even without a US passport, which was discontinued as he was flying from Hong Kong,” Lavrov recalled.

Still, these implicit threats haven't cowed Snowden from ceasing his criticisms of the Russian government.

Greaves explained Tuesday at the Capitol Hill Club, emphasizing that defending against hypersonic missile attacks has become a top priority for the agency. But he forewarned the audience at the elitist, members-only club in Washington, D.C., that the Pentagon has a poor track record developing satellite constellations and should not deploy new systems unless a considerable amount of testing has been completed.

Michigan - Woman Jailed For Biting Ear Off Chinese Restaurant Owner

A woman in Michigan got into a fight with the owner of a Chinese restaurant and bit a piece of his ear off. 24-year-old Jade Anderson was upset that her order Thursday night was not up to her standards. The restaurant Anderson was ordering from was a China 1 in Mount Clemons.

fter Anderson pushed the owner's son, threw her food on the floor, and assaulted the owner's wife, she then attacked the owner when he tried to intervene. Anderson then bit off the owner's ear, or at least a portion of it, according to The Macomb Daily. She was arraigned Friday in 41B District Court in Clinton Township on one count of assault with intent to maim, a felony that carries a sentence of up to 10-years in prison.

Canada begins imposing tariffs on US goods

Canada on Sunday began imposing tariffs on $12.6 billion worth of American goods like ketchup, pizza and iron in a tit-for-tat retaliation for President Trump’s slapping fines on steel and aluminum imported into the United States, according to reports.

​Trump placed the ​25 percent tax on steel and 10 percent on aluminum on June 1 against American allies Canada, Mexico and the European Union.

​In retaliation, Canada slapped 25 percent tariffs on steel and iron, while hitting 250 other US goods including maple syrup, dishwasher detergent, coffee beans and strawberry jam with a 10 percent penalty, the Associated Press reported.
