There are whole books of the Old Testament that detail how the nation of Israel ofter turned away from the god of Abraham, Issac, and Jacob to warship the Canaanite and Babylonian idols.
After a series of well documented beat-downs from God, the Jews eventually turned away from these idols and back to their creator. However, for thousands of years there has been a tiny fraction of the Jewish people who secretly still adhere to the old Babylonian and Canaanite customs. The problem isn't the Jews.. it's pretend-Jews who defiantly do not practice Judaism .
People like that family down the street who celebrate Hanukkah are not the cause of all the world's problems. When you look at the positions of power and see a unusual over representation of one particular ethnic group, you are seeing this tiny fraction.
Of the 12 million Jews in the world, it's probably not more than a few thousand who belong to the dark side. The vast majority are the most innocuous people you'll ever meet.
