Wow, booms going mainstream

Page 203 of IG Report says Loretta Lynch-Bill Clinton tarmac meeting was planned via Secret Service, FBI

Stunning revelations from the IG report of DOJ Inspector General Michael Horowitz (an Obama appointee) suggests that the 2016 tarmac meeting between then-Attorney General Loretta Lynch and Bill Clinton was coordinated — contradicting their claims that the meeting was accidental and coincidental.

Page 203 of the IG report suggests that Bill Clinton’s Secret Service detail had contacted Lynch’s FBI detail to set up the meeting when their planes were on the tarmac:

“The OPA (Office of Public Affairs) Supervisor said that he later learned that former President Clinton’s Secret Service detail had contacted Lynch’s FBI security detail to let them know that the former President wanted to meet with Lynch. Although Lynch’s staff was supposed to receive notice of such 204 requests, witnesses told us that they were not informed of the request from former President Clinton.”

As BizPac Review has reported, Lynch and Clinton claimed they only discussed grandchildren and golf during their rendezvous.

“Our conversation was a great deal about grandchildren…and he mentioned golf he played in Phoenix,” Lynch said at the time.

Christopher Sign, an anchor for ABC News 3340 in Alabama, said there’s no evidence that Clinton had played golf during his visit. “Two years later and I have not found a person who can confirm that former President Clinton played golf during that trip to Phoenix,” Sign remarked.

Furthermore, page 209 of the IG Report suggests that people nearby were instructed not to take any photos of the tarmac meeting: “The OPA Supervisor said that there was a photographer outside, and he recalled telling the photographer that Lynch would not be taking pictures. The OPA Supervisor said that he remembered telling the photographer that he (the photographer) needed to go back in his car.”

Continued updates about the Germany's Interior Minister Seehofer resigning:

Update 2: Angela Merkel will be making a statement later in the night, confirming the severity of the situation.

Update: After several hours of negotiations, it appears that Chancellor Merkel and CSU leader Horst Seehofer have been unable to reach an agreement, and according to N-TV, Seehofer told the CSU board meeting the he will resign as Germany's interior minister and as CSU party chairman amid the clash over Germany's migration policy, sparing Merkel the need to fire him and potentially preserving the political alliance.

However, this is where things get complicated because dpa adds that CSU caucus chief Alexander Dobrindt opposes the resignation and will not accept it, putting Germany at a political impasse and potentially in a political crisis in which the CDU and CSU alliance may now break. According to N-tv the meeting of the CSU governing body is now suspended.

According to Spiegel editor Melanie Amann, Seehofer sees few options for the CSU: Either to stand firm on the immigration dispute and risk undermining the ruling coalition, or to back down and damage the party’s credibility, reports Spiegel editor Melanie Amann. The third option, offering to leave his post, was possibly in an attempt to boost party members' support of his strategy.

Italy's Salvini Vows To Create Pan-European Association Of Nationalist Parties

Having taken Italy by storm, and threatening to prematurely terminate the career of German Chancellor Angela Merkel with his staunch opposition to further European migration, Matteo Salvini - leader of Italy's populist League - said on Sunday he wanted to expand its success to create a pan-European association of like-minded, nationalist parties.

During a keynote speech at the League's annual gathering in countryside north of Milan, Salvini said the League would govern Italy for the next 30 years, receiving rapturous applause from thousands of flag-waving supporters, according to Reuters.

"To win we had to unite Italy, now we will have to unite Europe" Salvini boomed adding that he is "thinking about a League of the Leagues of Europe, bringing together all the free and sovereign movements that want to defend their people and their borders."

"What we have managed to do this year, next year we will do at the continental level," Salvini said, eyeing the elections for the European Parliament in May 2019.

In his appeal to build a network of right-wing, nationalist parties around Europe, Salvini cited France's National Front leader Marine Le Pen, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban and Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz, among others.

Yelp becomes weapon in online political war

Yelp has downplayed the phenomenon and says it has the right policies in place to address it.

“We recognize that in particular instances very passionate consumers are going to express their positions on local business and they’ll take to all platforms they can find to express that opinion,” Vince Sollitto, senior vice president of corporate communications at Yelp, told The Hill.

“We’ve always taken the stance that we want to encourage people to share their experiences and then we use our systems, automated and manual, to sort through that and recommend content to our users," he continued.

“We try to err on the side of free speech and allowing people to contribute their content and express and opinions.”
